Devin is leaving (most likely left) Haiti today! Heading to Cuba and then VA and then back to Naples! YAY!!!!!! He had a great experience onboard Comfort but is really looking forward to getting back to Naples! I am just thrilled that we will be able to skype again! I have missed my boy's voice!

Wait I did not read, Devin is going on a ship and not Italy???

Robin, yes it would be nice to hear from her that is what we live for just to hear from our sailors.

Carrie glad the dog is ok, they are just like family. More schooling that is wonderful. Stephen just finished a 3 part class, I wish he could take more classes but with his work schedule 2 weeks day and 2 weeks night, no time to take classes.

Going to MI this weekend have a great weekend and talk with you next week!

Carrie both those places sound wonderful, go to both! LOL There is just not enough time to do everything.

Robin how is your sailor doing? Yes he talks about the food all the time, I can see he is not losing any weight either. LOLOL

Hi Jamie, welcome! My son has been there since April so it is coming up to a year. My son is an ITSA, he works with computers. He loves it there. The eating is the worst part, he had to eat everything in the microwave or sandwiches. There is a subway on base and another place to eat, Stephen said he cannot look at another sub for the rest of his life. LOL But he has moved off of base now (it has been around 3 months) and that is much better for him. My son turns 23 March 10th. What base will he be on? Stephen was on Capo, not much on that base to do.

Jamie - my son is a corpsman, he got to Italy in December and then was deployed to Haiti in early January so he hasn't really gotten totally adjusted to Italy yet but he's getting ready to head back there within the next week and he can't wait. He's 20 and I was nervous but they are like a big family there, they watch out for each other! Your son will be just fine! Oh - and the greatest thing in the world, is skype! You can see your cub when he calls from his computer and talk at the same time and for very little money you can call a phone through the computer as well! Skype can be downloaded to your computer for free and if you don't have the camera on your computer they are very affordable at Best Buy and WalMart! And the moms here are just like their kids in Naples, family, we're all here for you!

Been reading the posts about snowboarding and pubs and what have you and I gotta say, wish I knew the Navy was so much fun when I was a kid, I surely would have joined! Our kids lead awesome lives!
Didn't hear from Dev for a few days, thougth he might be on the actual island of Haiti but turns out they had some virus and shut down all the computers, then they had to move out to open sea to re-fuel. He's back in port now, says it's slowed down so much he hopes to ne back in Naples soon!

Hi y'all! Just catching up as usual! FYI - I am the dog pooper scooper, feeder, bather and walker in our house. If up to my husband I swear he wouldn't even want a goldfish to take care of! As it is, we have the dogs, 2 birds, fish, 2 cats (they kind of adopted us and live outside but I do get them shots and got them fixed, I'm allergic to cats but they are so pretty to look at!) We do have 2 grandsons, 3 yr old Cameron and 2 mo old Riley and Frank loves when they come over but that's because he knows they eventually go home! LOL
