It's hard not knowing! That is the purpose for this group. Most likely if you are here your SR has had trouble keeping up or not passed a PFA due to some sort of minor medical issue. Often it stress fractures bringing SR's here. Know this when you don’t get a call that is a very good thing. Calling them is not a good thing and it can negatively impact your SR to have his or her “Mommy“ calling!  They are harder on them in this DIV than any other. They want them up and out. The best thing you can do is sends tons of mail. Send scripture and motivational mail. I know my SR said reading the Bible was considered a sign of weakness here. When you get a tearful call motivate. Stay positive and encourage you SR. This is a small detour to greatness and getting the I'm a Sailor call!  Recruit family and friends…“Navy mom friends are the best“…to send your SR mail as well.  NMH for you all!!

Monchita...I know this is an extremely difficult time for you, but know there is light at the end of the tunnel. Ours just finished on the 18th. He was in RCU from Oct. It was the most difficult time I have had I think, but he is doing well. They will take very good care of him. They want them to heal just as badly as we do. The most difficult part is over. Phase 3 and 4 seem to be better, because they can do more than just lay around. They will be in physical therapy and be working toward finishing their requirements for boot camp. It won't be so cumbersome. Also, be prepared, you may not hear from them as much during this time because they will be training. We did not hear from ours but once from Thanksgiving to the 18th because he was working so hard to finish.  He didn't even have time to write. It may not be the same with yours, but I just wanted to give you a heads up in case it is. Good luck and we will keep them in our prayers.

Monchita: our Sailors will not attend a PIR :/. They heal up and then they will send them on their way. But there is their A school graduation to look forward to. My daughter was to PIR on Dec 2 ... She just got phased into 4 but the schedule is crazy because of the Holiday. We are hoping that she gets out sometime during January. Stay strong and Positive. There is nothing to so but encourage our recruits, send them letters, and Pray for them to heal. :)

I got a surprise call from my SR. She said tomorrow they get a 1 hour phone call. Nothing on Christmas Day- the NEC is closed.

Phillies... Wonderful news. We will continue praying. I know it is hard thinking about them being "stuck" there. But, as we have learned from ours, everything indeed has a purpose and reason. Something amazing will come from this.

CoastalKat... Got a call last night as well. He has put in for leave next week also . Haven't heard if it is approved, but he said he wasn't going to and the doctor ordered it. He was just going to come home a few days on his way to FL when he is cleared. He will fly into Atl anyway. We are very excited as I know you are.  He hasn't given me his new address. He said he would call back with it.

Praying everyone has a wonderful Christmas and extra prayers for SR's who will not be able to make it home.

Heard from my sailor tonight in THU. He has been granted leave. He gets to fly home next week & stay a week. Tell your recruits to hang in there. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Keep sending letters, every day if possible. You don't need to make them super long; they don't always have a lot of time to read.

I hope all of you are safe over the holidays.

Merry Christmas!!

Today we learned that we are one step closer. She was moved into Phase 4. Next appointment is Dec 30. Maybe a Sailor in the beginning of Jan? That would be wonderful. I am thankful that she is healing and that she is "stuck" at RCU with other amazing ladies during this Christmas Season!

CoastalKat...Thanks. Ours was talking about going this weekend, but said he wasn't sure if he was going. He is just so glad to be finished and have a little more freedom. We are hoping he can make it home for New Year's. He said it was too late to put in for Christmas. Keeping our fingers crossed and saying our prayers. We will say some for you as well.
