Seamen Recruits are here getting medical treatment for minor injuries. FIT DIV is also in this area.

It's hard not knowing! That is the purpose for this group. Most likely if you are here your SR has had trouble keeping up or not passed a PFA due to some sort of minor medical issue. Often it stress fractures bringing SR's here. Know this when you don’t get a call that is a very good thing. Calling them is not a good thing and it can negatively impact your SR to have his or her “Mommy“ calling! They are harder on them in this DIV than any other. They want them up and out. The best thing you can do is sends tons of mail. Send scripture and motivational mail. I know my SR said reading the Bible was considered a sign of weakness here. When you get a tearful call motivate. Stay positive and encourage you SR. This is a small detour to greatness and getting the I'm a Sailor call! Recruit family and friends…“Navy mom friends are the best“…to send your SR mail as well. NMH for you all!!

Good news all around. That is great. You may not hear from him until tomorrow if he finished today. It was actually two days before we got the phone call. They are so exhausted. BS is an extremely excruciating exercise. We will continue to pray for more good news.
Ok, the wait is killing me.. still no word from Matt, This is worse than the day he left for GREAT LAKES!
Yes, he will move through phase 2,3,& 4, then FFD.. encourage him to stay active. Matt enjoyed being the SRMPO (Seaman Recruit Mail Petty Officer), he said it got him out of the compartment and gave him something to keep himself occupied with.. It also shows initiative! Will keep ya posted.. I'm kind of expecting 1:00 PST.. probably finished with capping around 9;00, then Chow, then shower and Nap for a couple of hours, then up for chow at Noon.. then phone calls.. LOL Wishful thinking..
PS - post when you hear from Matt!! :)
I think it's great that our boys connected and so did we! :) At first he didn't have a positive attitude, but the past 3 calls have been very different. He's looking forward to finishing...he's studying for tests...he's doing his therapy...very different 'kid'. So relieved. So phase two means, he can do more things now, like helping out and moving around, right?
Great news, I talked to Matt yesterday.. he did mention he met Paul! Encourage him to keep a positive attitude.. He can make it. Please keep us posted.. We are still waiting to hear from Matt and how BS 21 went last night.. Hopefully on to THU (temp holding unit).
Just heard from Paul Jr. He is a phase two now in RCU! He was so happy about that. He's hoping to phase up again next week so he can start AIT. He sounded good. He adjusting well. Still praying for quick healing of his elbow.
Mom & Dad4MattJ - I hope you hear from Matt soon! I'm thinking of all of you!
Kim - Our son calls after doctor appointments and on Sunday's as Paces said, but if his group behaves. :) Hope your daughter is well enough to graduate on time.
Does anyone know when we would hear if our recruit survived battle stations?
Matt ran it last night...
Kim...She should be able to call on Sunday, but if she doesn't, they will let her call after she sees the doctor. So sorry to hear she is in RCU. Will keep her in our prayers.
Call the Public Information Department at the Base, they can get you info regarding her schedule for PIR.. Hope she does well.
