RCU SHIP 04 DIV 741

Seamen Recruits are here getting medical treatment for minor injuries. FIT DIV is also in this area.

It's hard not knowing! That is the purpose for this group. Most likely if you are here your SR has had trouble keeping up or not passed a PFA due to some sort of minor medical issue. Often it stress fractures bringing SR's here. Know this when you don’t get a call that is a very good thing. Calling them is not a good thing and it can negatively impact your SR to have his or her “Mommy“ calling!  They are harder on them in this DIV than any other. They want them up and out. The best thing you can do is sends tons of mail. Send scripture and motivational mail. I know my SR said reading the Bible was considered a sign of weakness here. When you get a tearful call motivate. Stay positive and encourage you SR. This is a small detour to greatness and getting the I'm a Sailor call!  Recruit family and friends…“Navy mom friends are the best“…to send your SR mail as well.  NMH for you all!!

Oh perfect! That's how I sent it. I do not have confirmation he is in ship 4, but if he has a broken elbow and is supposed to go back into boot, I was told this is where he is. We haven't even gotten his letter yet, but we needed to send encouragement asap.

Wow, 15-20 minutes, that's nice. :)

Thank you so much!!

Thank you for your reply. I'm happy to hear your son is doing well. I'm hoping he can push through with no issues. What did your son do while in RCU? Is the address that SHIP 4 one? How long were the calls for? I'm sorry for all the questions!

Our son Matt is there in RCU Also, His graduation date was to be Nov 16th,  he has been there about 6 weeks with a stress fracture.  Im sure the boys will meet up, Matt hopefully will be moved back to full training as of today, so he can finish in a couple of weeks.. He seems to have a good handle on things there.. and is focused on getting done.. Any chance you get to talk to your son encourage him.. 12 weeks is a long time,  but if he is dedicated he can make it. The one nice thing is he will get to call home every other week on Sundays.  we usually get our call around 12:30 PST.   good luck CTMOM

Hi Everyone,

My son Paul broke his elbow yesterday. He will be at boot for only one week tomorrow! He is on a medical hold for 12 weeks. Do any of you currently have anyone who might be there with him? I mailed a bunch of letters today to the address I was given, I hope he gets them. He needs the encouragement.

Happy New Year All!!   Anyone have any general idea how long the running clinic  takes to get the run PFA passed and then onto BS and then to "A" school??

Caleb has started the clinic this week..this is week 10 of him being in Bootcamp and week 2 going on 3 of FIT.  He gets to call every other Sunday only and can get and write letters anytime.  Just wondering because I want him to get the PFA passed and onto SC before getting bored or discouraged about not being at A school yet...He really misses home--but he didn't get his "leave" after x-mas like he thought he was going to 12-22 to 12-30 he was supposed to be home and then onto SC.  Thanks for your comments and support

Hello, I am new to this group. My son was sent to div 2347 after he did not pass his PFA run due to the ankle bracelet not counting his last final 2 laps. The RDC believed him but the people above the RDC's did not. So, he had to redo the run the night his div. was doing battle statiions. That then forced him not to be able to graduate with his div. He should have graduated on 11/21. He has passed everything and has been sitting in this div 2347 waiting to complete battle stations. All in all he has a very good attitude at first he did not he felt cheated and felt he was treated unfairly. Which I to feel that he was. But his family and him have learned that there are many bumps in the road and this has made him a stronger person. He will be completing battle stations sometime in the next week. Are there any other moms out there that have any loved ones in this division that will be completing soon?

got a call today from my son. he has been in BC since 9/20 and is in RCU he was moved to phase 4 but thinks he will be lowered to phase 3 after next doctors appt. very hard for him and for me. he seemed alittle more upbeat since he is following a division and doing some of the things. working on the fire fighting now. does anyone know if they make them quit if they take to long to heal. he will be so upset if after all this time is not able to finish.

yes my son wants to finish thru RCU also. he is just ready to be done. he got to watch a movie on saturday i think and he did sound better this sunday virsus last sunday. he did not mention getting computer time. i think getting hurt again is both or ours worst fear. i dont want him to push too hard but i sure want him to finish as quick as he can. hopefully the 12/21 date will be the one. good luck. i will be thinking about Matt along with my son and wish them both a quick finish they both deserve it...i know they are working very hard mentally to get thru it.
