It's hard not knowing! That is the purpose for this group. Most likely if you are here your SR has had trouble keeping up or not passed a PFA due to some sort of minor medical issue. Often it stress fractures bringing SR's here. Know this when you don’t get a call that is a very good thing. Calling them is not a good thing and it can negatively impact your SR to have his or her “Mommy“ calling! They are harder on them in this DIV than any other. They want them up and out. The best thing you can do is sends tons of mail. Send scripture and motivational mail. I know my SR said reading the Bible was considered a sign of weakness here. When you get a tearful call motivate. Stay positive and encourage you SR. This is a small detour to greatness and getting the I'm a Sailor call! Recruit family and friends…“Navy mom friends are the best“…to send your SR mail as well. NMH for you all!!

thank you for that. he seems to be ok but keeps talking about the others being depressed and i just dont want him to get there. i will try to keep him positive. i write every day and try to be positive and get him thru it. pray that he goes to phase 3 because that seems like a better stage where they can do more and it will also give him hope that he is getting better
do most guys actually make it thru RCU and finish bootcamp. i am so worried that he wont. he told me only about 1/3 actually get it done once in RCU so that scares me that he wont. he is having a bone scan today and will know more tomorrow but i wont know. hopefuly he will be moved to phase 3. i just want to keep his spirits high and get him thru this
celynn, How long was he in BC before moving to RCU? That will make a difference on graduation scenrios.
i got the call that my son hurt his new and then i got the call that he was moved to this RCU. it was very hard for him but last time i talked to him he sounded a bit better. He has therapy 5 times a week. he talked about getting to do more when he is on the next phase of therapy and i hope that is true because there is not much to do while resting his knee. does anyone know if and how graduation works when your son goes to RCU
Jamie, we are so sorry to hear your news, hopefully he will be fine physically! The emotional pain will be there for a while, but time will heal that.. God has a plan. We will keep you guys in our prayers. God Bless, Rick & Julie.
Jaime I am sorry to hear that. What was he discharged for? I have not heard from my SR for over a week and I am beginning to worry. No letters even. last one I got said he was worried the dr would SEP him.
We were quite surprised to hear from him, it was one of those "I need information calls" but he did get to chat for a couple of minutes.. He seemed very upbeat aside from having a cold. He so wants to join back up with a Division and get his PIR.. then on to A School in Florida.
Mom&Dad4MattJ that is great news. I can't believe how quickly he has phased up to a 3! Has to be the quickest I have ever heard of. My understanding of being in RCU is if they continue to train while in RCU they don't go through PUR. But your son seems to be a different circumstance as he is making quick improvements. He may be able to join a new division that takes off where le left off.
Happy news for you all!
We got a call today, our recruit is doing better after only 6 days in RCU, His legs are feeling much better, said he was moved to Stage 3 and was doing some training... Whatever that means.. Do Recruits get put in with other units to train then back to RCU at night?
He said he might get to rejoin a division. We are saying our prayers!
