It's hard not knowing! That is the purpose for this group. Most likely if you are here your SR has had trouble keeping up or not passed a PFA due to some sort of minor medical issue. Often it stress fractures bringing SR's here. Know this when you don’t get a call that is a very good thing. Calling them is not a good thing and it can negatively impact your SR to have his or her “Mommy“ calling!  They are harder on them in this DIV than any other. They want them up and out. The best thing you can do is sends tons of mail. Send scripture and motivational mail. I know my SR said reading the Bible was considered a sign of weakness here. When you get a tearful call motivate. Stay positive and encourage you SR. This is a small detour to greatness and getting the I'm a Sailor call!  Recruit family and friends…“Navy mom friends are the best“…to send your SR mail as well.  NMH for you all!!

I had a great chat with my SR yesterday. She was in good spirits. She is at phase 4 and being tested for FFD Wednesday. If she passes run Friday she will do Battle stations Monday and be done. Asking all for prayers. This has been quite a journey!

Can we send books?  I am running out of things to send.  I sent a newspaper the other day and then I was worried sick I was going to get him in trouble for that.  How about magazines?  But paperbacks are okay?????

Leora, we are orignally from the south as well (MS) but have lived in minnesota for 11 years so she is used to it. Still doesn't like the cold but this time of year doesn't bother her.

Babbs I'm from Florida. Where are you? Anyone else from Florida? My SR is complaining about the cold weather. She is freezing. Funny as she always said she hated Florda and was moving to where it is cold when she could! She is getting what she asked for and misses Florida! Lol

Thanks guys! The support is so much appreciated. My focus now is to keep my girl as calm and cheer her up as much as possible. I'm happy to hear that we can send books. Thanks for the info!

Babbs so sorry to hear that. My dayghter had the same situation. She was to graduate 8/31 and she is still in RCU. We are hoping she gets out by November. It's been a rocky road as they are very bored. I have sent book but not hard cover as they need to leave them there. Write every day to keep her spirits up. I'm convinced this is harder on us then it is them!
