It's hard not knowing! That is the purpose for this group. Most likely if you are here your SR has had trouble keeping up or not passed a PFA due to some sort of minor medical issue. Often it stress fractures bringing SR's here. Know this when you don’t get a call that is a very good thing. Calling them is not a good thing and it can negatively impact your SR to have his or her “Mommy“ calling! They are harder on them in this DIV than any other. They want them up and out. The best thing you can do is sends tons of mail. Send scripture and motivational mail. I know my SR said reading the Bible was considered a sign of weakness here. When you get a tearful call motivate. Stay positive and encourage you SR. This is a small detour to greatness and getting the I'm a Sailor call! Recruit family and friends…“Navy mom friends are the best“…to send your SR mail as well. NMH for you all!!

Hello. I guess this will be my new group for a couple weeks. My son was supposed to graduate with his division on Oct 4th. He got strep throat so bad that it absessed and they had to do a surgical operation on him. He said he felt so much better afterward and was expecting to go back with his division, but they sent him to medical hold for two weeks as he was to go into the gas chamber the next day and I guess they didn't think that was a good idea. He is devastated and feeling very down about this news. We have our airline tickets, hotel, car rental, etc. The airline won't refund and will charge us a hefty fee to change reservations....any ideas anyone? I am very sad for my boy.
Hello ... just found out my son too has stress fractures. I am praying for everyone in this Division for quick healing.
Sgraham, that's not uncommon. Your daughter may be a little down and may not feel like writing. My son was that way. It was frustrating not hearing from him. She's probably anxious/frustrated about being cooped up in RCU and not doing what she wants (moving forward with her Navy career). Have faith in her and keep the letters flowing to her from your side... she will write to you. She'll write to you when she feels she's in a good place mentally. I think (and this is purely a guess on my part) she may not want to write because she's worried that you'll worry about her even more. It also may be that she missed the mail call. I got 3 letters in one day because my son forgot to send them! Stay positive for her and keep encouraging her. I found that sending pages of jokes and lyrics of his favorite songs worked well for boosting spirits. You'll both get through this and be stronger because of it.

well it has been a whole since i have heard from my daughter. we went from receiving 3 letters a week to nothing this week. I am a little concerned because it is not like her to not write us.
Thomaker - I'm sorry that your daughter is getting separated from the Navy. I truly believe that when one door gets shut, another one opens. I will keep you all in my prayers. Pax.
So sorry to hear of your daughter's separation thomandker. May the Lord lead and guide her to whatever path He has for her life. Blessings to you both.
thomandker, when my son was at RTC he told me about a couple of instances where guys were "caught" talking to the girls. Evidently this is a complete no, no, which I really can understand due to the seriousness of what they are trying to do with our children (molding them for the Navy). They truly don't want any distractions. Extreme? Yes! However, my son told me of kids getting set back a week or two. I never heard of anyone getting separated for this type of "minor" at least in my mind offense. Prayers going up for you and your girl!
