It's hard not knowing! That is the purpose for this group. Most likely if you are here your SR has had trouble keeping up or not passed a PFA due to some sort of minor medical issue. Often it stress fractures bringing SR's here. Know this when you don’t get a call that is a very good thing. Calling them is not a good thing and it can negatively impact your SR to have his or her “Mommy“ calling! They are harder on them in this DIV than any other. They want them up and out. The best thing you can do is sends tons of mail. Send scripture and motivational mail. I know my SR said reading the Bible was considered a sign of weakness here. When you get a tearful call motivate. Stay positive and encourage you SR. This is a small detour to greatness and getting the I'm a Sailor call! Recruit family and friends…“Navy mom friends are the best“…to send your SR mail as well. NMH for you all!!

Hi Debra,
Of all days for your boy to come home, I'm so happy for you it's your bday! What better present could you possibly receive?! I'm sorry to hear he's struggling with being separated. Do you know if he wishes to re-enlist once he is healed? If that's his desire, I certainly hope it is possible for him.
Praying for him and you as he adjusts to his separation and return home.
Hello ladies,
Well, my son is scheduled to come home on Tuesday, which is kind of cool because it's my birthday! He still seems kind of bummed out about the whole thing, but looking forward to getting home I think. I'm so excited about seeing him, and getting him healed.
I haven't been posting much because there's not much to say and I'm also really sad about him getting separated. I know logically that it's the best thing for him, b/c of the stress fractures, but it still really sucks!
Hope everyone got phone calls if they were expecting them and if not, hope you get a call or letter soon. Beautiful day in New York today, about 87 degrees.
Whoa! What happened there? Sorry everyone! Anyways....
Wow, 1ProudMom! Yay for you! Was she in better spirits today? Did the doctor have better news for her? I hope so. Your SR needs to feel that all her hard work is not for nothing! Go, girl!
No call from the boys' side yet? Whenever someone mentions "trouble" I always imagine my son in the middle of it! Argh! But, at least last week's "trouble" wasn't him because he did call, but I just wasn't there. <sniff!> But it's okay---there is about three or four more hours available for calls, right? C'mon honey! Don't roll snake eyes! ~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*~+~*+~*+~*+
So sorry you haven't heard from your boy in so long boomMom - praying today is THE DAY!!! I remember how hard the not knowing was, and my heart and prayers go out to you!
Yes, I'm getting VERY excited for my son's BESS (Basic Submarine School) graduation 6/1! I talked with him this week and he told me he's hoping to come home with us for leave!!!, but said the only way that might happen is if he doesn't class-up immediately for his next course (he has 2 more submarine courses to go before starting his A School).
And...of course lots of paperwork to fill out, and he won't know til??? We've been meaning to paint and redecorate his room, but haven't quite yet. This is sure lighting a fire under our butts! If he isn't able to come home now, at least it will be ready for him when he does. Hope everyone is having a good weekend! It's a BEAUTY here in New York!
Janet, I meant highlight and copy often while typing out your post. Sometimes funky things happen...right, Jill?
Thanks, Karen! No calls or letters for a long time here. I'm just living in a very tense, yet resigned state of mind when it comes to my SR. Whatever happens...happens. I just pray for him to come out whole. Otherwise I'm fine---thanks for asking! I'll take those prayer, though! ;-)
Two more weeks for you! Packed yet? lol Kind of like Janet---which by the way, we should be hearing from very soon! Probably checking out the real estate market in San Antonio, huh?
Janet, I know coming back from a long trip is a tedious, yet long process, but we're all anxiously (in a good way), eagerly, and sitting at the edge of our seats waiting to hear about your reunion with your Sailor! Spare no character counts! I know for a fact that this wall only allows 4000 characters per post, but we'll forgive you for using TWO or THREE!! LOL! And highlight/paste often! Right, Jill?
....riding on Karen's prayers......
Hope everyone is doing okay...no postings on here in several days. Praying phone calls and good news will be in abundance today!
Tyelersmom, I sent you a friend's request. Once you accept it, I'll PM you with a little more detail about what my son went through. He is out of RCU and now a Sailor in Submarine School.
PatricksMom.. did your son heal from his stress fx? did he make it through or is he still in RCU or BC? Im asking because my son said he was told he had 4 stress fx in one leg... I just want to know if anbodys child had that many and actually made it through or just kept getting re-injured when sent back to regular duty?
