It's hard not knowing! That is the purpose for this group. Most likely if you are here your SR has had trouble keeping up or not passed a PFA due to some sort of minor medical issue. Often it stress fractures bringing SR's here. Know this when you don’t get a call that is a very good thing. Calling them is not a good thing and it can negatively impact your SR to have his or her “Mommy“ calling!  They are harder on them in this DIV than any other. They want them up and out. The best thing you can do is sends tons of mail. Send scripture and motivational mail. I know my SR said reading the Bible was considered a sign of weakness here. When you get a tearful call motivate. Stay positive and encourage you SR. This is a small detour to greatness and getting the I'm a Sailor call!  Recruit family and friends…“Navy mom friends are the best“…to send your SR mail as well.  NMH for you all!!

Oh Sharon, how I wish I could be with you to give you a BIG hug right now.  I was crying reading your post too.  I so wish I had some words of wisdom or comfort that might help you and your son at this difficult time.  What I do know is the scripture Jill shared with you is spot on.  The Lord DOES have wonderful plans for your precious son, and the Navy might only have been a small part of them for a time.  I'll be continuing to pray for him that the Lord will illuminate the path He has chosen for him, and guide him along the way.  My heart is truly aching for you Sharon, and my prayers are certainly with you and your husband too.

With much love, hugs & prayers,

Karen

Yes it is Janet. This was the first week I didn't get a letter, and now I'm pretty sure I know why. I know that a conclusion for my son is still very far away, so even though I'm hoping for a call tomorrow, its very hard not to be focused on Sharon right now.... I just hate those situations in life when you want to do or say something, anything, to make it better, and there just doesn't seem to be any way to do that. Prayer, endless prayer.

I am sooo sorry, Sharon! I too am crying with you and FOR you and your son! {{{{Sharon & son}}}}

Prayers & Hugs!

And thanks, Janet, but it will be bittersweet for me as well as my son; he really got close to a lot of them.

I know that everyone is thinking about what Sharon is going through right now, but I do hope that the rest of you receive phone calls from your SR just so you'll know what is going on with them.  This is so difficult -- hoping for the best for all.

Sharon- Know i just joined this group but I can understand the pain. I feel for you and your family. Like Jill said after the tears comes the strength.

Sharon, I know I just joined the group, but I feel your pain; I keep waiting to get the same phone call.  Let yourself cry and know that we're all here for you.

Sharon, after the tears comes strength, for all of us.

My son called us to let us know he is being separated for medical reasons.  He is now in the Separation Unit, did 'indoc' this morning and will be discharged from the Navy in the next 10-20 business days.  He did say several guys were told last week and this week they were being separated/discharged.

That is all I know right now.  My brain needs to process this for awhile and I need to cry a few more tears.  Thanks, Sharon

Debra11...   While you'll have all the ladies here for support, remember that if he goes back to another division, you'll have an entirely new PIR group to celebrate with as well.  [Silver lining, etc...]   You might be new to that group, but you know they'll be thrilled to have you and your SR with them -- the more the merrier, right?  Just know that the ladies in this group are always here for you.  I honestly believe that we've had the most difficult rollercoaster ride through RTC that any group can possibly have.  The delays for our SRs can be difficult, but when they finally overcome the injuries and set-backs, it really can be magical.  If nothing else, they learn to be tough and steadfast.  My son always says that the letters and [absolultely stupid] cards I'd send really did help him make it through, so follow BoomMom's advice and keep sending stuff to your SR.  It can brighten their day when they are at their lowest.

Mackay214...  My thoughts are with you and your SR today as her div. goes through PIR.  I'm sure it will be a tough day for her (and you), but know that we do know what you're feeling and we know how hard it can be.  Hopefully, she will be done with whatever she needs to do and can get back to another division soon.

Hoping all of you get phone calls (or letters) this weekend from your SRs.  ****Thinking happy thoughts****

Hugs!!!

-Janet
