Hi all, I received a very brief phone call last night from my grandson. Said they were at NEX and he was told to make a quick call! I was surprised and very excited to hear his voice. He called his GF on Saturday. Said he was great, feeling great and was very up beat. Said 303 has earned alot of flags really coming together but did ship out 2 more recruits last Thursday but he didn't know why. Was excited he passed Test 2 and was really looking forward to gas chamber and BS! They are able to write on Tuesday and Thursday evenings but still don't have a lot of time because so busy! Said 303 has earned Independent Seamen for their drill marching. He only gets a couple hours on base liberty after PIR cause he's Grad N Go leaving early Saturday morning but wants us to come to the Airport and see him as he thinks he will be waiting for a while before his flight leaves. I can't believe only 16 days!! I'm having a hard time staying focused except thinking about our trip to GL and hugging my grandson! Great that most are getting those calls and letters! I just read that we should stop sending letters 10 before PIR? I didn't know about this but I guess it makes sense.

Hello All.....Theresa, too funny to read about his experiences. I dont think I could be serious at a time like that, Id have to laugh lol.
I have not received my ribbons as of yet but some have if you read our PIR group page. ( maybe it was even some of you)...said they looked really good !! Im excited. I dont really expect a letter tomorrow as D said they were going to have an extremely busy week this week, and thats ok.
Like I said in the PIR group, D said they get their POD every morning ( Plan of the Day) and they only are hearing rumors when things will happen. He was told gas chambers were at the very end but who knows ? I mean, the info we are getting could be second or third hand once they receive it.
All I know is , in 16 days, I will get to hug D and not let go like I did the day he left for BC. Ive already warned him tears WILL flow but I promise not to get his dress whites dirty lol. I also will be taking a kazillion pics , which hes gotten used to.
I got a 45 min call on Sat and last night the surprise call he made to his GF, as he didnt get to talk to her on Sat. It was only a 5 min call. He said they were all at the NEX and those that were done shopping got to call, so it wasnt the whole division.

My son called Sat for 36 min. Said they got pizza and was excited about that. They told him after PIR they would only have couple of hrs then would have to go back & pack up their stuff. He didn't know what was to happen next, is this a good thing? He got his orders for school. Said he did good on fireing. He still sounds sick but is going to just deal w/it. He said there is compotition b/t div"s. It sounds like the worst may be behind them, YAY!

K said gas chamber is Thursday & BS are next week they were told. Also said the llast week is gunna be kind of a free week, so send more phone cards lol. He hasn't been sick at all. Which really suprises me cuz he ALWAYS gets sick. I had a 847 # as well. They set back another today. He said you have to really screw up and fail tests now to get set back. He said everybody is running scared. RDC'S are telling them that they have and will again set you back on Thursday night before PIR.....SO KEEP YOUR ****** ******** ***** *********. lol I'm sure you have heard how they talk or should I say scream. He said sometimes he has to bite his cheeks to keep from laughing. The RDC was yelling at him one time for doing so good on his inspection lol go figure...and he wanted to laugh so bad, the RDC seen it in my eyes and yelled harder and louder....He said it took everything he had not to loss it in laughter.. I absolutley love listening to the stories he tells... He said he could tell me things forever..I miss him very very much!
