Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I really was...but it's her call and she can always do a C school later, she may just have to wait a little bit to start it once she makes that decision. :)

THE 12 DAYS OF THE NAVY

 

On the first day of Christmas the Navy gave to me, my Sailor spending time with me.

On the second day of Christmas the Navy gave to me, two days of cruisin’ and my Sailor spending time with me.

On the third day of Christmas the Navy gave to me, three calls home, two days of cruisin’ and my Sailor spending time with me.

On the fourth day of Christmas the Navy gave to me, Navy family support, three calls home, two days of cruisin’ and my Sailor spending time with me.

On the fifth day of Christmas the Navy gave to me, FIVE MARGARITAS!  Navy family support, three calls home, two days of cruisin’ and my Sailor spending time with me.

On the sixth day of Christmas the Navy gave to me, six pictures posted on Facebook, FIVE MARGARITAS!  Navy family support, three calls home, two days of cruisin’ and my Sailor spending time with me.

On the seventh day of Christmas the Navy gave to me, seven seas to sail on, six pictures posted on Facebook, FIVE MARGARITAS!  Navy family support, three calls home, two days of cruisin’ and my Sailor spending time with me.

On the eight day of Christmas the Navy gave to me, eight months deployment, seven seas to sail on, six pictures posted on Facebook, FIVE MARGARITAS!  Navy family support, three calls home, two days of cruisin’ and my Sailor spending time with me.

On the ninth day of Christmas the Navy gave to me, nine packages sent out, eight months deployment, seven seas to sail on, six pictures posted on Facebook, FIVE MARGARITAS!  Navy family support, three calls home, two days of cruisin’ and my Sailor spending time with me.

On the tenth day of Christmas the Navy gave to me, ten stocking stuffers, nine packages sent out, eight months deployment, seven seas to sail on, six pictures posted on Facebook, FIVE MARGARITAS!  Navy family support, three calls home, two days of cruisin’ and my Sailor spending time with me.

On the eleventh day of Christmas the Navy gave to me,  eleven days of leave, ten stocking stuffers, nine packages sent out, eight months deployment, seven seas to sail on, six pictures posted on Facebook, FIVE MARGARITAS!  Navy family support, three calls home, two days of cruisin’ and my Sailor spending time with me.

On the twelfth day of Christmas the Navy gave to me, my PRIDE in our Navy, eleven days of leave, ten stocking stuffers, nine packages sent out, eight months deployment, seven seas to sail on, six pictures posted on Facebook, FIVE MARGARITAS!  Navy family support, three calls home, two days of cruisin’ and my Sailor spending time with me.

Will be interesting to see in a year where all the Sailors from PIR Sept 16, 2011 have gone to.  Hope everyone had a great turkey day and all of your holiday shopping is complete (Yeah, I know..."YEAH, RIGHT!")

Howdy, y'all! We have arrived in Groton and are in the middle of the arduous chore of unpacking our lives. It's interesting how much you forget that you had when you haven't seen it for 6 months or more. It's nice to be back with my husband again. Hope all is well with everyone!
