He doesn't have a phone card. Is that why he hasn't called maybe? We didn't know to give or send him a phone card. His div was only allowed 2 calls during bootcamp - now I don't know how to get one to him. Should I use the address on this site and overnite one to him? Wouldn't they allow him to call home and tell us he was being sent home?

Seps Admin - can help you in the morning. My daughter had a medicial problem, not an injury. She was allowed to call each day with her phone card and she was also given computer time a fews days a week. It took 2 weeks for her to process out.

I have come here not knowing for sure where my son is. He was in Spec Ops and he called me last Thur morning at 7am and said he had a torn ACL and PCL - he was being taken to the hospital for an MRI and would call back with the results. He said it the MRI confirms this that his Chief recommended he come home - have surgery here, rehab and then re-enlist in a year. I have never heard back from him. I have no idea where he is or what is going on. I do not want him to come home and us have to pay for this surgery. I want to talk to him and explain that to him. He said the Chief told him he would be in rehab there for 16 weeks and not allowed but 1 phone call and letter writing. That scared him so bad he just said he would come home. Is this normal that they don't call back? Will he just show up on our door step? HELP?

Fleur de lis Mom - thanks for the comments. This is all such a shock to me - after a very long 7 weeks to be told he is coming home is heart breaking - not that I don't want to see him - I just wanted him to have this! It has been such a long road for him!

But I agree, there is a reason why this is happening. They said he can come back but I feel bad as I don't think he wants to go back. It's unfortunate as he was doing so well there too!

Maribeth - my daughter was sent home during processing and was in Ship 5 for 2 weeks. She had major surgery too close to going to RTC. It's been a tough journey; full of tears, heart ache, and questions. My daughter ended up having to have her appendix out during what would have been the week before PIR.

Now I understand that there was a good reason for her to come home. She said it was very hard to the ones in Ship 5 that we so close to graduation. My daughter can try again since she has a medical discharge, I'm not sure if she will. We are all here for you. Seps Admin can help - just ask. Also, keep writing letters daily, I also overnited some books by her favorite author, she received them the next day, but mail took a while.

he hurt his shoulder.. in his call today he said hes comming down with a cold as well. ready to get him home and back to normal!

Maribeth, thats when my bf went to ship 5 as well.. he thought he would see legal on wed or thurs. good luck to your son..
