My son also got sent to ship 5 on Tuesday the 12, only spoke one time to him briefly. Not sure what's going one, kinda lost right now.

New to this group, my son was sent to SEPS on 2/12/19 he has called twice this week to let me know the process for him to come has been started. He signed both of his waivers, now just waiting to see legal. Hopefully he gets a re-enlist code. The Navy was the only thing he has wanted to do he was so motivated for this , my heart breaks for him.

AlwaysBeeKind - vent away - that's what these forums are for.  Hopefully when he sees legal he remembers to sign a waiver allowing you to speak to legal too.  And hopefully his separation is for something that allows him to re-enlist.  He will need to get waivers but it can be done.  Hang in there mama.

Feeling emotionally spent-from excited and nervous and missing my son leaving for boot camp 12/18, to heartbroken, frustrated and sad when we got a call last week that he was being medically separated. He was doing well with all the aspects of BC so this is a shock.  Seems like an excruciatingly long time to get him home, he said it could be another two+ weeks (that would have been PIR). Worried about how it will be classified, he was still still waiting to get to legal.  I am trying to maintain grace and composure, but needed to vent a bit.

To Mom_06 .. if your son was persistent in leaving & told the navy he was not mentally ready, his chances of getting back in are slim to none. I have yet to see ONE person get back in that admitted to ANYthing mentally weak get back in. :( yes, recruits have been told 6months, waivers etc. Many also get denied before the board even with the waiver(s) prior to getting back in the second time. Your son will need your loving support because of the decision he made was to come home. If he was persistent then clearly he’s needing family support. Best wishes and hugs

Yes, he will be able to start again in 6 months, but he will need at least two waivers to do so and it will most likely be longer than 6 months when he makes it back to RTC.

My son was sent to SEPs last week. He was ASMO'd two times and on the second time, I think it just mentally broke him. He was 12 days away from PIR and was ASMO'd 2 weeks, due to the Christmas holiday it actually was 4 weeks. So he was back at week 3. He was devastated. He said he is just not mentally capable. He wants to come home and get his head on straight and work out and return better. I did not think that they could just  quit like that. He did say that they told him no several times but he was persistent and told them he was not mentally ready. He is not being medically discharged, and he said they told him he could return in 6 months. Just trying to understand how it works.
