Good evening, I have joined this group because, my son called last night and said he was being moved to RCU. I only got 2 min to talk with him. He has injuried his knee and they are moving him I guess to Ship 6? for rehab for 30 days. Does anyone know if this is usually the protical? Does anyone know if the success rate is good for the rehab on knees for 30 days? He was told that if after the 30 days he can go back to BC where he is currently (Week4) and if all goes well he will graduate with that group.  If this doesn't correct the problem he will be sent home.  Has anyone experienced something like this?

Glad they are taking good care of your sister, its nice to know that they are nothing if not thorough.. please tell her to keep her spirits up - 2 weeks is not so bad then will start therapy and rehab and be back on track!

proudsistah - wow, tough call to get BUT as much as we want them to improve, if her body has not healed enough for the cast to come off, she's way better off than risking another injury.  Prayers that she continues to heal and surprises the docs with her progress!

Kathy- yeah, my sister is the only one with a cast there! And today is the big day for her!!! She has an appointment at VA hospital to remove her cast off!

Kathy you are in the right group here. This is RCU group. The ships have changed. It is ship for and was ship 6. Anytime a recruit is sick injured bad enough to need recovery time, this is where they come to. This ship also houses the FIT recruits also. Good luck to your son, he will have more of an idea in a few days once the doctors have spoken to him.

Don't worry Kathy... You will definitely get a call from him tomorrow or sunday... He might be in ship 4. That's where my sister is staying. Hoping for your son's fast recovery!
