poohbear - my son was in RCU for 5 weeks. He finished his last academic test there and did "Damage Control" with another division, also went through Battle Stations with another group. He did not PIR. He had been with his division and formed bonds with them and felt that if he joined another division to finish up, he would be an outsider and the bond with his fellow recruits wouldn't be there. He brought us all division shirts when he came home to get my DIL. We wear them proudly! He is friends with the sailors that he started bootcamp with and the bonds remain strong with his division.

Michimom is correct. She can do the testing and such there, unless they feel she needs to go back to a division. I think they can send them for fire fighting and such. Unsure since when my daughter was there, it was the 2 days before her PIR. so she had finished everything.

poohbear, my son was in RCU 6 weeks, and he didn't graduate with another division, since he was very close to PIR when he went in. If she's close to graduating, she may just finish up on her own. Just depends.

same with my daughter, she hated being transfered out of her division(901) it's very hard on her, she has made several friends since being there and talks about them in her letters to me how long was your son there? and when
he got transfered back out did he graduate with another division my daughter also told me she could advance while on medical did your son do this?

poohbear - 2 weeks? Hopefully she's past the worst of the adjustment period. It can be pretty bad at first!! They were really good to my sailor and he got to be friends with some of the other recruits. Still hangs out with a couple of them that went on to Goose Creek. Those Sunday calls are wonderful. We added M to our prayer chain at church and when he was able to call on the Sunday before he did Battle Stations, but he didn't know what day/night he'd go through BS so I ran through a lot of blue candles while he was in RCU.

poohbear, good that there is no fracture. My son was on medical hold for a while and missed his PIR. Now he's finished A school and waiting to class up for his next round of classes. They can make it through this, it's tough on them and us but hang in there!! how long has she been in RCU?
