Michimon-
I sent you a reply message. I am not sure if it will help but, she can try that.

I know it is so scary, she needs to pray and she needs to have questions answered. Find out if she has a POA (power of attny) if she does she can call PAO and they can get her info and also the red cross will get in touch with her recruit to get a call if she gets no place with PAO. I however got nowhere with PAO.
I am not understanding why with pneumonia they are separating him? I think it has something to do maybe with the migraines also as I said could be that chest x-ray showed previous asthma. High fever could also be a concern if he is convulsing. They do not play with any seizures at all. They are pretty scared about that, the feeling is any of those can cause brain damage and cause for more and frequent seizures. How true this is I do not know. I am praying for this mom. She must be beside herself.

Good question, linda. I don't know (hearing everything second-hand), but I'll pass along the question.

Hello, all,

I have received a message from another N4M mom who has a friend in a panic because her son is being separate from the Navy a week before PIR. He has pneumonia with double ear infections, with a fever, and has also now been told he has migraines. He never had migraines before. I am trying to assist in any way I can, and one way is to post this to see if anyone else has any advice. Feel free to send me a message if you have any helpful info. Thank you.

Hi all ship 4 is ship 6 lol... ship 6 is getting a makeover/upgrade. They moved so this could be done. I do think that they only have on ship for injured sick/Fit.

I hope all the recruits are healing well. One day at a time ladies. It is all in Gods hands and we can not rush or push this. Kayla was there over a month and finally got it. Yours will too. Have Faith the size of a mustard seed.!!

Good luck, I am off and also waiting on my call from Kayla, she is at dental today for the second time. And also goes back tomorrow and again on the 13th, I think tomorrow they are going to decide if and when to do her surgery. Today she got odd news but not gonna fail in my trust with it... lol Not bad news though just odd.

iowanavygf - It's the old "No news is good news" story. If the dr appt doesn't reveal new problems, no news, if the recruit needs to advise family of changes, then you get news. It will drive you NUTS not know what's up!!! My sailor was in there for 5 weeks and we generally didn't hear from him, other than letters, on Sunday when he got time at the NEX.

RCU is boring and depressing BUT they do get into a routine. We didn't know when our sailor was doing Damage Control or BS except the "anticipated" dates in his letters. I didn't know about BS until I got the "Sailor" call.

Hang in there!!

I think they only make calls if they move ships. My son was declared fit for duty on a Tuesday, though, and he didn't call me until Thursday a.m. to tell me he was doing Battle Stations that night. He'd already done his final PFA and firefighting by then. I don't know if that's typical or not.

I got 3 letters yesterday from my bf.. he is sounding really depressed.. says that ship 4 (the old ship 6) is horrible, so draining, boring. He said he hates it there. But.. he has a doctor appt today.. does anyone know if they allow him to call afterwards and give an update, or if they only make calls if they move ships?
