OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

It takes a few days Andrea, you should get a form letter with a handwritten note from him at the bottom, then a box with his things in it. Beware of the box, it will make you cry.

Also - there is a good book you can buy on Amazon.com called "Honor, Courage, Commitment - Navy Boot Camp" that follows a division day-by-day; interesting & helps you feel connected. Can you go to graduation/Pass-in-Review (PIR)?

Oh dear Andrea, I know it's hard...
You can ask your recruiter to look up his division and mailing address so you can start writing letters. I think writing upbeat, encouraging notes helps us moms cope, too.
