Hi, kidzzmom: As a single mom of one son, it was really tough for him to leave for bootcamp on 6/15/09. I had prepared for a whole year for him to leave, but I don't think I was prepared for him to be gone when I got back home. Much crying and talking to myself went on for awhile. But after about two weeks I could finally peek into his room without bursting into tears. I could finally drive his truck and not be a total mess. It does get easier with time. I spent a lot of time with my church family and friends. As a children's minister, I was able to spend a lot of time with other familys with kids. Prayer, family support and lots of friends at home and on this website really help to get me through this tough time. At PIR, I was about to burst when they walked in. I do hope you'll be able to attend PIR. It was most magnificent. My advice: Keep praying, love on your daughter, talk to friends and cherish the calls/letters from bootcamp. You will all three make it through this and then you'll be the proud mom of a US Sailor and that is one feeling you will cherish forever. PM me if you ever need to talk.

I'm almost ready for the WEEKEND! Couldn't be much happier, my young adult children are well, I'm well and I'm enjoying dating a really nice man. You know something. Being an emptynester ain't all bad...I think I could get used to this...LOL

Everyone have a wonderful and happy weekend!!

Hi all ~

Welcome Natalie, where is your magazine published? It sounds interesting and like Wendy suggested just ask specific questions and we'll do our best to help you!

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer as much as I am! Take care and have a great week!

Oh, Sandra, I'm so sorry to hear that your TC has been canceled now. Hopefully it can be rescheduled for a better time and you'll still be able to go then.

Thanks Deborah for the shout out! Yes, I'm glad that it hopefully helps to get the word out about N4M and its awesome parents! Hope all is better today for you.

Hi all ~

Great news Sandra, I'm so glad for you to be able to do a Tiger Cruise is wonderful!

Deborah, I'm sorry to hear that the plans got canceled for your son's visit home. I know from experience that it hurts to not see your child for extended periods of time. I will pray for you both now. It is done. I love how we all lift each other up and can share in the good news too. It's a beautiful thang!

I know tomorrow will have new promises and we can lean on one another.

Goodnight and blessings to all

Hi all ~

Dropped in to night to say that my daughter has actually seen the Berlin Wall...in person! Her ship is also doing Naval exercises overseas with 4 or 5 other countries (allied forces) and is learning alot about European culture.

BTW, I couldn't be more proud or excited for her and our Sailors as they charter unfamiliar territory as young men and women in the greatest Navy in the world! Who would have thunk that she'd have so many wonderful opportunities with the Navy?! We're so glad she does. Hey, thanks for allowing me to share with you all and I hope everyone makes a great week too!
