LOL Hi Lauren !
We have to do something to get this group alive !!!!!
Hmmmmmmmm I'll think of something..
Cherylm, who will take care of your daughter while you are in basic? Who will take care of her and help you raise her while you are on ships? My daugfhter is a single Mom too. it has been very hard for her to be seprted from her child. But he has a good father and step-mother raising him. She only gets to see her son about twice a year when she gets leave.
i didn't want ther to join the Navy but it is working out for her. the only problem is that her recruiter lied to her and told her single Moms are not deployable and she had to give custody to her ex. When she got to BC she found she could have her son while she is on land but then couldn't get custody back.
You need to have a family plan in effect as to who will be resposible to pick up your child if and when you are deployed, they have to be able to get your child within 48 hours notice.
2boys1girl - You are so welcome and I hope all of you have a very Merry Christmas.. My daughter is coming home from Army BC ( Christmas break ) and I will be spending a lot of time with her.. : )
I can feel the sunshine on your face Lou2 : ) Merry Christmas !
2boys1girl That's awesome! I believe that my son, who is 24, missed his 1st run at bc by 30 seconds and he's very athletic (a former soccer player). He sure kicked it in and never has failed it again. He had to do a 4 mile run today at A-School and did beautifully. He's cut his time down by 2 minutes I think. The walls at the dorms are thick concrete and sometimes it's hard to hear him on his cell :-)
Thank you Lauren and Mikes mom for all your support. I'm feeling much better. I picked out the Christmas tree Saturday and the young man delievered it, help me set it up and get it straight. I still owe him some cookies.
My son has received his verbal orders for his 1st duty station --- Guam! Somewhere warm!!! I'm so jealous! We've had snow, sleet, freezing rain AND rain all in 16 hrs today. This is the SOUTH. Until it's in writing, Nate's 1st assignment could change. He wanted to see the world, here is his chance!
2boys1girl,
Tell your son to take it one day at a time... The recruiters now know where he is and they will help him ( or they should )... All three of my children have gone into the military and one was 18 , then 20, and now my youngest at 19.. big age difference then your son... Please let him know I will be on his team he can do this because he wants it so bad : )
