For those going to San Diego an FYI. Humphries Inn on Shelter Island was OK, just don't eat at their restaurent.  Walk across the parking lot to http://balihairestaurant.com/.  A relly great view of the harbor. Get a reservation for sunset and watch the lights of downtown come on.  Get a window seat.  Also, Seaport Village is great and Edgewater grill has a wonderful menu. Have a wonderful time.  We did!

Hey everyone.... my husband is currently in A-school in SD. I am finishing up my degree in Ohio and then possibly moving to SD... he's trying to get into the 6 year program, but currently is only contracted for 4 years. I'm going there in a few weeks for my spring break... I hear it's beautiful!

missinghim,  He might be on hold at GL waiting for a spot to open up at SD.  A-school was about 9 wks for my son, he said some had been there wks, even months still waiting to class up.  My son is not looking forward to leaving Thurs. Congrats to you & your boyfriend.

Denise, another ky mom  yay!  I remember what it was like waiting for that first call. Do you know if others from his div. have made calls? I do know they have to earn the phone calls, mine usually came on Saturday.  Graduation is awesome, bet you can't wait.

missinghim,  It depends on if he is 4 years or 6 years.  4 goes right to SD.  6 stays in GL for a few weeks.  My son might go six but he is in SD right now and had to wait four weeks to class up (holds).  He classed up when he stated the class.  He was told different things at BC and just had to wait until just before PIR to know for sure that he really was going right to SD.  Be patient and it will all be OK.

Afternoon, everyone! My husband is at RTC (PIR 3/25) and then heading to school for STG. I've also learned that he is the WORST letter writer in the known world, so I am absolutely desperate for any information that people who have gone through this can share. :)

Phoebe, I know he will miss the group too. I told him it seems he is on "vacation" instead of in the military. He replied but I am & I'm also learning at the same time. They do enjoy volleyball, he  sprained his finger during one game recently. LOL I am so glad he was able to meet you & your family during your visit. When does your son graduate?

Deb,  Thanks for the info on graduation, I was feeling bad because we couldn't make it. This will be the first event  of his  we will miss.  I am excited to see him . He lives about 2 1/2  hrs from us, where he has been attending college, so it will be nice  to be able to spend time w/him. Not sure where is path is going next, finishing college or  if he has decided to go full Navy? He tells me last minute because he said I get to emotional. Which I do. LOL
