Thanks Alicia, I think I will stay with the support aspect. I don't think I need any more activities at this point. Are you the same Alicia in the Japan Moms Group? Great to know that we connected in both groups if you are!
Hi Shelly, I went to a meeting about a year and a half ago. The group was great, very welcoming and friendly. It is a very active group though. They do a lot of activities and participate in a lot of different events around town. The first part of the meeting was reading of the minutes form the last meeting and talking about who has done what and who will do what. For me it was not what I was looking for. At the time I needed more of a support group. But if you are looking for activities and things to do this is a great group! They help all branches of the military locally, not just Navy. Hope this helps :)
no worries Ruth. The mind goes faster than the fingers. hope it works out for your SIL and the furnace.
I just read my comment and wonder what I was on! No proofreading, obviously, but you know what I mean, I'm sure. Thank you again!
Sue-Pillowcase lady, THANK YOU! I will pass this on! I sent the day with Molly of Molly's Adopt a Sailor. We taked about what an awesome organization this is to network and help each other!
Ruth, we use Martin's Heating and Cooling and have for years. Pete and Gloria Martin are the owners and the number is 722-7027. Tell them Ray and Sue Lamberson recommended them.
Tucson moms, I need some help! My husband's sister lives in Tucson. She's a widow of the Vietnam war, retired, on fixed income. Yesterday she told us her furnace needs replacing, and the quote is $4000! Do any of you know of a trustworthy handiman and/or a heating company that might be able to help her? We're in Illinois, so this is hard--and we just replaced a furnace for a lot less here.
Oh yes, the random crying still happens with me! I want to get together but this weekend is kind of busy for me. Maybe in teh evening on Saturday? I fnot I dont think I have plans the following weekend. When does your son leave?
Always a Mom, how are you doing by the way? I hope things are going well and you are staying strong!
I just found out when my son is done with his A School he will be going to Japan for 3 years! I am having a hard time with the news, but I am also very excited for him. We were all hoping form something closer to home, but this is one of the reasonhe joined the Navy, to see the world!
