Usually care packages have taken up to a week when not around holidays. Letters shouldn't take that much longer. I always have him let me know when he gets things we send.

I just send his mail regular and if I want have them add a tracking number to it. If I mail him care packages, I get an automatic tracking number. I never have sent anything he has to sign for. I am sure you can though.

That actually does help a lot.  i did put his name but not his rate.  I guess we will see if the letter ever shows up.  Do you send certified or registered to get a signature?

This is what my son gave me and I need to send him something important that can't be lost.  I sent a trial letter and it has been 10 days and he has not received.

Hi Clearlizeth - my son is in Japan also!  He has been there since the beginning of January.  I have not talked to him via phone since he arrived but have received FB posts, emails and a postcard!!  There is a FB page for the USS Blue Ridge.  Check it out as it has great photos of the sailors on the ship!  Welcome!

Hi clear, what will your son be doing?
Comment by clearlizeth on February 6, 2013 at 5:31pm

Hello all! I am new to this group.  My son just left for Japan yesterday.  Luckily, he was able to facebook message us that he had gotten there safe and sound.  Excited to be part of this group.
