MASUE,
Let me know what you find out. I am a frequent flyer with them and I will have no problems letting them know what I think about what they did.

MASUE,
Do you mean Alaska Airlines? If so 1-800-252-7522. If so I am so surprised that they would do that. I would definantly call them and raise cain with them. I have never had a problem with Alaska Airlines.

Millye.....So glad you heard from Claire. I know that the Surface Warfare pin is a BIG deal, and requires a TON of studying. That, on top of the schedule that these kids have to keep has got to be a real killer for her. Hope you had a nice clear line with her, but either way.....I KNOW it made your day!!

Thomas' Mom,
The offer still stands for Thomas. If he needs some help or doesn't understand what they are telling him my hubby is still willing to help him. Also when he does decide to go to school make sure the VA rep at the school is doing everything correctly. We had to which to a different school cause the one at Paris Junior College was not doing things correctly. Also have him order his SMART Transcript. That will show all of his Military Credit towards college.
I still cant get over the idiots that are doing this to him. UGH!! Just pisses me off.

Masue,
I would call the airline customer service department and raise some HELL with them. Ask for a supervisor. They should not have charged him a fee PERIOD. That is so wrong. What airline was this?
Comment by Mollie...Kelcies Mom on July 18, 2010 at 10:55am
Masue....if his connecting flight was delayed and that caused him to miss his flight he absolutely should NOT have had to pay a charge to rebook. PLUS, the airline should have covered his hotel bill. If it's not to late, you need to rattle some cages over that one!!!

Thomas's mom....there are no "right" words when you are going thru something so devistating, but I do know that Grandma is right on the most important thing. Sometimes what seems like the worst thing that could happen to us, actually winds up being a blessing. Unfortunately, you and Thomas don't have the benefit of hindsight at this point. I will keep you both in my prayers also, as I know that what hurts them also hurts us!

Thomas' Mom, I am so sorry that things worked out the way that they did. I do realize that the economy is not good but he does have the educational benefits. I would suggest that he take some time to review his assets (skills) and where he thinks he would like to be in the long run. Then he should map out a plan to achieve his goals. If he can use the GI bill to help him accomplish his goals, he should do so. My prayers are with you both.

Millye, Yesterday I had a brief e-mail from our g'daughter. She said she was "crazy" busy and that days got by her before she realized she had not written for a while. Remember no news is good news. I really feel for these sailors. I hope they have something that will give them a break for a couple days.
Comment by Mollie...Kelcies Mom on July 17, 2010 at 5:08am
Bobdot, Kelcie's email is the 1st 5 letters of her last name, with a k at then end, then no .'s or anything, just @cvn73.navy.mil. If your daughter is attached to the airwing, it might be totally different, but if it's similar, give it a try. Hope you get it straightened out soon.
Millye, Kelcie said the other day that some of the rates work 17 and 18 hour days, so they litterally have NO spare time. She said to let all of you mom's know that if you aren't hearing from your sailor like you are used to, that's probably what is going on :>(

oh don't worry, hon. i'm sure you'll hear from her soon... there are times when the lines for the computers are too long or the computer room is closed for cleaning and such... it depends what time of day she is free... i'm sure she is safe and fine, but i hope you get to hear from her soon! i know you must miss her a lot. :)
