Just double checked and I've got the same zip 96550-2801, and Kelcie gets her stuff within 10 days from here in California.

The zip code I was give is 96550-2801. When I looked it up on the USPS website, it said it is for APO (Military) address.

Hi Cheryle, I'll check that site out also! Can't get onto the section for phone cards right now for some reason. If there is any difference in price from one to the other, I'll let you all know which is the better deal.

Nonie, I ordered them from the Exchange Online Store. If you go back about 10 pages, on 6/22 DC G'mother posted the direct link that takes you straight to the phone cards. A few of us ordered them right away. One wierd thing was that we got emails saying something about tracking our orders and in order to do so, we needed to provide info that NONE of us felt comfortable giving out, stuff like partial Social Security numbers etc. I just ignored the email, and the cards came very promptly anyway. So I'm happy.

Hi ladies, just wanted to let you all know that I got the "Ship to Shore" phone cards that I ordered last week. They came FedEx today. I never responded to the email that I received asking for the personal information, so I wasn't sure if I would actually get them. But I did. Will include a couple in my next package to Kelcie.
I have "vented" some on this site also, but don't think I've ever said anything that would put my sailor in a "bad" spot. Personally, I don't remember seeing anyone else on here do that either. I pretty much think that almost everything we do these days is accessible to almost anyone who wanted to see it very badly. Technology has both it's good and bad points I guess.

Hi Kimi...both the Ombudsman and the FRG are set up to be supports for the families of the sailors, but indeed, they are definitely targeted to the families that are IN japan. When the email came out about the list showing the port stops etc, one of our other moms here emailed and asked if there was any way that those of us stateside could get that info. To my knowledge, she has yet to get any response.
soccercyn....Kelcie said that the stealing on the barge was THE worst also. I know that she had some things stolen while on it also. It was NOTHING like a laptop though. That has got to be the WORST.

Yep ladies, not sure which would be worse, the wrath of SEALS, or the wrath of a few hundred moms!! I did ask Kelcie about the issue and she said that one of the things that security does during "General Quarters" is to look for anything that is easily identifiable as not belonging to the sailor whose berthing it was found in, but that there are SO many on board, and security is such a small division that they also feel frustrated. And unfortunately, security personel themselves are not immune to the stealing. It's just nice to have this forum to vent to other moms who are feeling the same way. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF EACH OTHER. We are a darn lucky group of ladies if you ask me! Everyone have a good week....
