Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• No Sailor addresses, emails, or other contact information. The exception to this rule is FPO addresses.
• Specific dates, times, and locations regarding current or future deployments and ship movements. Do not post dates more specific than by month. Do not post specific ports of call, deployment bases, or future destinations.
• Details regarding training, equipment, and current or future operations or missions.

Question. Are the boxes you talked about mailed free or at a flat rate? My local supermarket offers them but it is about $12 to mail if I remember right. Just want to check out what others pay.

momof2+....I can relate, when my son was in his pre teens I could tell that he was upset about something, but he wouldn't say a word. Sometimes I would have to make him SIT on one of the kitchen stools until he would tell me what he was mad or upset about.

Lori...Kelcie said it was just like Christmas in the Hanger Bay when all the mail got there. These kids live for those packages!!!

If they did shut down email, it was pretty "short lived" thank heavens :>) Sent Kelcie a care package on the 24th and she got it yesterday! I was afraid that it might take a really long time when they were at sea, but I guess not.
