Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Comment by Arwen on January 4, 2012 at 8:36pm: The division flags are designed by the recruits themselves, and often include a cartoon depiction of some funny event from early in boot camp, or a symbol or symbols they decide mean something to them.

The division shirt is a a black shirt, with "U.S. Navy" written vertically in blue down one side of the front, and an image of the division flag silk screened on the back.

This is the juniors size babydoll version, it is also available in regular mens' t-shirt cut, and as sweatshirts:

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on January 4, 2012 at 6:47pm: Marcy there are several of us who have Sailors already and there are some families who have one already in the Navy and one in bootcamp. My daughter is an AO, stationed in VA Beach and her husband is an IT also in VA Beach. My youngest son just finished high school at Christmas break and he is currently working out and getting into shape to join the Navy. He wants to be an Air Rescue Swimmer so he is working hard towards that goal.
