Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

FLTW, wow, 7 groups at once! That's got to keep you quite busy I'm sure! Well you and your time are certainly appreciated!

Make the Search engine your BFF and you will learn lots! Make sure you check the date of the posts you search to get the most current info...and we always welcome and NEED moms to help out!

P.S. Alicia...we usually have 7 PIR groups going at a time! Whew!

Comment by AmyD on February 9, 2012 at 2:32am: FTLW, Navymom88, Please tell future loved ones of SR's that when they drive to O'Hare if they don't have the change for the tolls, they should make note of the date, time when they pass through it, the type: tollbooth, basket or open tollway, the NAME of that toll gate and/or TOLL number so they can pay it online when they get to a computer. They must pay within seven days. If they are renting a car and don't pay online they rental car company will tack on another processing charge. Back tracking to get this information is difficult at best.

I wasn't going to but I found out the post office has a flat rate Express Box for $39. Basically you can fill up with whatever will fit and regardless of the weight or destination it will always be $39 for next day delivery. I was thinking it would be $70 for overnight! Still expensive, but I went ahead and did it just this one time!
I was thinking the same thing about the countdown! Its very nice not seeing the minutes ticking away!
