Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". AmyD - There are a couple of places on the "Places to eat in Great Lakes" discussion. Since then I have discovered one that I believe is the BEST ever...UNO pizza. I didn't eat there but saw it on TV and then gues what? They have it at Target. I bought one and yummo! If it is that good boxed and shipped it has to be great in the restraurant! I have to research locations though. It is downtown I think. :-( I'll find it and add it to the list. I also have a Navy Pier Post and I will have to do one for the Museums!

Pizza...museums...pizza...museums...pizza...museums...my reminder!

Comment by AmyD on January 19, 2012 at 12:09am: When I spoke with my son he said he did NOT want to hang out at the hotel. He wants me to find the best Chicago Deep Dish pizza place for lunch and then go check out Chicago. All I'm seeing is museums...any suggestions?
