Welcome to all Anticipating PIR 10/7/2011!!

This group is for those with loved ones who had PIR on 10/07/2011. (PIR is short for Pass-in-Review and just means graduate from Boot Camp.)

It was an amazing ceremony, an amazing opportunity to see our Sailors perform and participate as an entire group, amazing to hear that wonderful Liberty call and completely overwhelming to get those long awaited hugs.

It is our desire that this Group will provide the information, encouragement, and support you need while your loved one continues their Navy Journey. We are hoping you will continue to come back and update everyone on that journey and continue to seek support and encouragement from friends you have already made here.

Enjoy your time here and feel free to Comment and join in the Discussions. Be sure to check out the information in the "Pages" section to the right. This is information that will be of interest to all Members.  (You will need to click on "View All" to see all of them.)

Please review the Community Guidelines and keep OPSEC in mind when you post. If you would not want an enemy to know something, then do not post it here because this is NOT a secure site and the enemy lurks. Please do not post your Sailor's last name and NEVER his/her full name. Also do not use your full name, especially if your last name is the same as your Sailor's. If your Sailor provides specific information about events that will occur, please keep that to yourself and do not post the day/time on here since this information may be sensitive and is not to be shared.

leviferret, we will pray for Zach.  I can only imagine how disappointed you and Zach must be.  We will pray that he passes and still gets to go on to school as scheduled!

Just got a call from my SR and he has not passed his run.  He said that he would have a chance again in the morning and if he passes then he can go through BS Thursday night.

Regardless, he will not participate in the graduation ceremony.

Please keep him in your prayers.  His name is Zach and he is really down at this time.

KathyMom,

What a great idea! Thanks for thinking of that I would not want to lose contact with any of you lovely ladies!

Comment by KathyMmom on October 5, 2011 at 11:26am
I did hear that the 900 divs sometimes call earlier than others because they might have to practice for PIR in the afternoon. So maybe! My phone is plugged into power here in the car so I will be ready whenever we are blessed.

Sheilamf - we love all of our military so we love your Marine too! Maybe we can't answer any questions about them, but we will support you anyway! Please thank both of your sons, and hang in their.

I do plan to convert the name of this group to start with Alumni so we can all still keep in touch. It would be neat if we could update the group every now and again to let each other know how and where our Sailors are and what they are doing.

We leave today for GL so excited to see my SR!  I also have to say that I am so thankful for everyone on N4M, it helped me see that I wasn't the only mom feeling the way I have.  With N4M and my daughter I have been able to not be a complete basket case through the last 7 weeks.  I have to keep telling myself he doesn't get to come home with us, but he get's to start the next part of a journey he has looked forward to.  It's kind of interesting I have run into a couple of his friends here at home one lost his job so is now looking and not planning on college and the other one is still looking for a job and might start at a community college in January he wasn't sure yet.  It's a great feeling to know that my SR has done exactly what he has planned to do and I am so proud of him!!
