This group is for those with loved ones who had PIR on 10/07/2011. (PIR is short for Pass-in-Review and just means graduate from Boot Camp.)
It was an amazing ceremony, an amazing opportunity to see our Sailors perform and participate as an entire group, amazing to hear that wonderful Liberty call and completely overwhelming to get those long awaited hugs.
It is our desire that this Group will provide the information, encouragement, and support you need while your loved one continues their Navy Journey. We are hoping you will continue to come back and update everyone on that journey and continue to seek support and encouragement from friends you have already made here.
Enjoy your time here and feel free to Comment and join in the Discussions. Be sure to check out the information in the "Pages" section to the right. This is information that will be of interest to all Members. (You will need to click on "View All" to see all of them.)

My sailor just left last night. She is headed overseas to her great adventure. While this time was the hardest to say goodbye, I have to say I am so incredibally proud of her. She is very excited to be heading off into this big world.
Hi Everyone, hope you and your Sailors are all doing well. Just want to take a moment to say, my thoughts and prayers are with the family of the young SR who died this week at RTC. He was due to graduate next week. My heart goes out to them, I can't even imagine what they must be feeling.
A week & half went pretty fast for this Mom, it was so good to have our son home for this short time, celebrate a late Thanksgiving and then an early Christmas. I was so proud to walk with him in the airport yesterday with him in his dress blues on the Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. He's arrived at his first duty station last night, so ready to get busy & learn more.
I haven't forgotten those who want a copy of the dvd, but my hubby put is somewhere and I am unable to find it right now. He's on the hunt.
Thanks KathyMmom.
I just received mine in the mail the other day. Let me check the copyright on it and I will get back to you after I'm done with some other tasks.
Grrrr....Just called the photo lab and they are sold out of the Oct. 7 PIR DVD. Does anyone have one that they would be willing to burn and send me a copy? I will pay for all costs.
Hi all... I received my DVD of the 10/07 PIR this week. I sat down last night to watch it, with some of the family that couldn't make the trip to Chicago. I was just as moved as I was the first time. I hope you are all doing well and your Sailors are happy. With the holiday season being upon us I know we're all focused on being with or not being with our new Sailors.
I consider myself lucky to have mine just a 6 hour drive away. I will be traveling up to Connecticut's Submarine School for the second time, this weekend to spend Thanksgiving with him. And we are hopeful, that he'll get some Christmas leave approved to come home for the first time since August (fingers crossed).
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!!
So Excited, my girl will be home for 7 days at Christmas and then 7 days before her next comman. At least that is the plan. She will finish A school in January, so if she does not get to come home then at least we will have her with us for Christmas. Hope all you lovely ladies have wonderful holidays.
Hi Everyone! I hope you're all doing well! I just peeked at the Boot Camp Mom's page and I am ashamed to say...my primary thought was "Oh, I'm glad that's not me anymore!" We are excited, our daughter will be home from DLI for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I know I am blessed and I'm thankful for it. She is really excited to come home. She seems to be doing well but she is definitely homesick, which surprises me a little bit. I guess we turned out to be not so bad after all! haha
