Vet moms or Craig- I recieved 2 letters form my daughter today and one of her friends called. Her big request-send stationary. Can they recieve small pacages or even a bigger envelope. I though about sending note book papaer and some envelopes in the mean time. She is doing well and has passed all of her tests so far. She said she passes her PFA the first time and only about 17 in her division passed on the first run so they have thier work cut out. She is very torn about the leave or liberty after graduation but said we can discuss it when she gets to call. Hardest part for her is living with 90 emotional girls and that she now looks like a man. Too funny!
Got a letter from my so today!!! I was so distresse to hear that he hasn't received ANY of our letters. He had 3 wisdom teeth pulled and he said "mom, I'm so heartbroken when my name isn't called for mail, I need to read something from you and pop" but he did say that Fri div 26 will be given their phone calls...Woo HOO!!! I can't wait, I'm so happy for the moms that received calls from their sons/daughters, I know that hearing their voices was music to your ears...now if i could figure out why he hasn't gotten any of our 5 letters over the past 3 weeks..??? =(
Added a discussion on MARLINSPIKE up above!
got a 20 minute phone call from div 21 :)
Rosalinda: So very sorry about your SR....but I agree with you...the Lord has something better planned for him! Prayers for him during the discharge process. You all may want to join the group Ship 5 (formerly 17) on here for some very important discharge info. Blessings to you all!
Yes, natalie's mom, the run gets some of them, but hopefully she will pass it soon! She has time.
I did not get a letter yesterday from my SR hoping I get one from her today. She did send a letter to her grandma which she got yesterday and called me to read the letter to me. I guess she was not doing so well when she wrote the letter on 11/11 because it was her birthday and having a hard time getting through the day emotionally, but she said she passed her inspection, but the division did not do so good. She also said she did not pass her PFA only due to the running part of it she did with all of the rest, but she has to pass the running. My understanding they get 3 tries, so let's keep our fingers crossed she passes the second time.
Michelle, yes that's what it means. They will probably be allowed to "borrow" some leave time, that they will just earn back during A school. My son took 10 days last Christmas and it only took him 2 months to make up the extra 5 days during his A school. While they are in A school, many will not take leave anyway, since their family/friends aren't close by. Once they have phased up, they will be then be granted liberty and be allowed to leave base. Different bases have different criteria for their phasing up, so it's all in where they go on when this will happen. But, an example would be, in Pensacola at phase III, they would be allowed to leave base on a Friday afternoon and return back by Sunday night at 10p.m. but are only allowed to travel within 250 miles of base, I believe.
Rosalind, ((hugs)). You are truly right on. I believe that for any SR who has to return home for any reason, there are big things waiting for them. Please thank your nephew from us.
Hi everyone my newphew is the one in BC and his mom got a phone call yesterday that he is being sent back home....something to do with his eyesight that didnt pass with the NAVY so he will be sent back home in about 3 weeks they are all taking it hard...but i tell them GOD has something else in mind for him....GOD BLESS ALL SR......
