Good morning all. Praying for our PIR 12.29.11 recruits AND for YOU! Those that received letters yesterday - HOORAY! Those that didn't - YOU WILL SOON and it will be very comforting seeing your loved ones handwriting. I caught myself smelling the letter (only AFTER my son's dog took a big whiff!) I thot to myself - self, maybe it smells like him. NOT. lol
Have a super day and go find a picture or piece of art your recruit made for you from grade school. S-M-I-L-E - your kid is being molded into a U.S. Sailor and that is a tough journey followed by an awesome accomplishment!
momshousedivided: These early days are when letters/calls can be a little down or dejected. They are being yelled at, moved along, and sometimes they wonder if they can do anything right. That all changes during training week 4 (about 5-6 weeks after they arrived) when they turn the corner and the breakdown process is over...buildup process has begun. So just hang tight!
Holly: I know some stay in Libertyville. I would mapquest/googlemap the distance, but I don't think it is that far away. Maybe 20 minutes or so? Not sure so check it out.
Good morning, all! Have a good day!
Good morning everyone, I will be subbing today for some very sweet (I hope) 3rd graders. I will be back this afternoon. I hope you all have a great day and get lots of letter :-)
WELL Hello all- got our first REAL letter. He sounded kinda sad, but ok! said he had feet issues, but did not want to go to medical. Oh for goodness sake, that is the field he are going into! I understand his reluctance to speak up and get behind on things, but he can't go through BC with issues that could make a big difference. Just gonna keep writing to him and pepping him up best that we can. From this point that is all that CAN be done. I hope everyone that did not get a letter yesterday gets theirs today. They may sound homesick andsuch, but this is soooooo common. Encourage, encourage, fire those kiddos UP!!! Ok ok! That is the "old" cheerleader in me. hahahahaha! Have a blessed day.
In honor of not only tomorrrow, but to honor always! Here is a two-fer( just cause I couldn't decide):
How important it is for us to recognize and celebrate our heroes and she-roes! ~Maya Angelou
I dream of giving birth to a child who will ask, "Mother, what was war?" ~Eve Merriam
i've been looking at hotels.. has anyone stayed in Libertyville? what kind of drive it that to the base? there are rooms at the Days Inn there for $48
No letters came today, so maybe tomorrow, but I will have to wait until I get home from work since I have to work in the office tomorrow instead of home. So happy for everyone else that rec'd letters today
YAY for real letters!!!!!
mtnwoman have you not received the form letter yet? If so the address is there for writing letters.
Isawinski, how did you get an address to send letters? I've been writing letters but don't have an address to send them to. Can you help?
