Ruth, you are very welcome!
Good morning, everyone!
Sailor Mom and Proud: When they are on leave, they need not be in uniform. But on liberty after PIR, yes, uniform is required. When they report to A School or duty station, they must be in uniform.
momshousedivided: The MeetNGreet is for all attending PIR the next day, whether N4Moms members or not. So you will meet Navy families who have never heard of this site. DO SHARE! Can you imagine going through this w/out N4Moms? Many are very appreciative to find out about this site for their sailor's continuing journey through school and then duty stations. As you all have found out, there is such wonderful support here!
Diannep@ Thanks for the encouraging words. It means alot.
FireTeamLeader Wife@ I teach 6th grade. Any info would be great. My classes are going through the process with me.
Craig@ Great Trivia question. It is posted on the board and ready to go for the day!
Good info for the meet & greet. Are they Division specific? When I went to our's for our older son last year one of the moms from the mom's site made everyone name tags with their username from our site so we could recognize each other. great way to put faces to names. Our meet & greet was platoon spec. so it was a little easier, but all they same really nice.
Ok- here's today's funny--

Ramada Meet and Greet
Hi everyone!
I'd like to invite someone from this group add the RAMADA Meet N Greet to Events.
All you have to do is click on the “Events” tab up at the top.
Then everyone from this group may go there to RSVP for this M & G. ANYONE may attend...the Ramada does this for every PIR group as a courtesy, it is free. Those staying at the Ramada will get a voucher for two free drinks and they have a cash bar. They do not mind if you bring in a water or soft drink with you. The RSVP just helps them get a head count so they know how much food to prepare. But I am sure they make a bit extra!

As soon as it is added I will post a direct link under the RTC one up above.
RuthL - What age are your kiddos again? I did a research on the ships that the "Ships" at RTC are named for. Someone asked for CVN Numbers and that got me going! I wasn't sure of the ACTUAL ship sometimes...for example there have been five Tritons...so I looked up all that I could! Would you like me to post it...it's kinda fun for us big kids too!
Great Video Craig!
RuthL - Here is a test you can give your students. Most people don't know this. In fact I bet 85% of the Navy veterans don't know this....
Question:
Where is the USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75) stationed? (there is only one logical answer)
A. Norfolk VA
B. Everett WA
C. San Diego CA
D. Honolulu HI
Answer: A - Norfolk VA
How do you know this? It's because all even numbered carriers are on the west coast, and all odd numbered are on the east coast.
CVN-65 Enterprise Home Port : Norfolk, VA.
CVN-68 Nimitz Home Port : Everett, WA.
CVN-69 Dwight D. Eisenhower Home Port : Norfolk, VA.
CVN-70 Carl Vinson Home Port : San Diego, CA.
CVN-71 Theodore Roosevelt Home Port : Norfolk, VA.
CVN-72 Abraham Lincoln Home Port : Everett, WA.
CVN-73 George Washington Home Port : Norfolk, VA.
CVN-74 John C. Stennis Home Port : Bremerton, WA.
CVN-75 Harry S. Truman Home Port : Norfolk, VA.
CVN-76 Ronald Reagan Home Port : San Diego, CA.
Now it's time to see the video about the USS Ronald Reagan
