Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Personally I am going a little nuts here. Still have not head my 'sailor call'. Last I heard from her was on 4/3, a 30 sec call that PIR would be 4/13. Might you my daughter is 2 mons late to PIR due to surgery and 2 subsequent hospitalizations with post surgery complications and then some time in the recovery unit. I suppose no news is still good news. Any insight much appreciated. Thanks!

Those calls have to be so wonderful for you and make you even more proud of them (if that is even possible). Comment by littleone68 on April 10, 2012 at 5:15pm: i am SO bummed right now!! i have been so good and so strong throughout the last 8 weeks, but i missed my call today and am nearly in tears. my SR was so tired when he tried to call me, he accidentally called his sister's number instead.... she immediately called me and before i could get her off the phone, i had missed my call from him :-( at least he left me a voice mail before moving on to call his gf. trying to just console myself with the fact that i will see him friday :-)
