For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by BobbysMomSH#04--DIV#119 on April 8, 2012 at 8:57pm: Just got a call from my son. I was so happy; he sound so serious though. Said he passed everything, but just needed more references. He wanted to know how I found out his division(119) won the captains cup; thanks to navy for moms! I look forward to seeing him next week. My daughter plans to sign up for skype and oovoo so they can see and talk with him too while we are together.

Comment by asterzmom(ship03-div117) on April 8, 2012 at 8:37pm: guess what happened to me today my SR called ..... best Easter ever!!! also everyone was there to say hi she sounded so good... said she will call me later this week with the one call we all want...Im a SAILOR ... cannot wait till then .... I was suprised to hear from her since she is in FIT ... she is waiting to B/S so she can go back to her division and graduate on Friday .... she also mentioned that her division won Captains Cup (117) .... said that they have a large trophy and that they also have a flag to carry at graduation.... I don't know how she found out but that is what she said

Did anyone else get calls today? ..... She said that since she has passed PFAs she has gotten a little more freedom not B/C Heaven but some.....

Will they have a carry-on already with them --something they can put their cell phone, civilian clothes, ect... in, or do we need to bring a bag for them? I'm assuming they check in their sea bags.

Comment by diannep on April 8, 2012 at 3:27pm: For the 04/06 group, the Pensacola group flew out today. But that doesn't mean much for the other groups. Just depends on when they can get flights. Since this is a holiday weekend, maybe they had a hard time flying them all out yesterday.
