diannep the RTC FB page said Captains Cup will be held Saturday because Easter is not a federal holiday.
Helpful hint: Yesterday my husband came in COVERED in grease after having worked on a piece of heavy equipment, so we're talking big time grease! Of course, he was wearing his brand new pants. I sprayed those puppies down with Dawn Dissolver, threw them in the washing machine, and they came out spotless! At the same time I sprayed down a shirt with ring around the collar. Voila! I know this doesn't have a thing to do with PIR or the Navy, but it has everything to do with being a mom and wife.
BattleStations are just "around the corner" for this group! We should have some sailors soon! Remember, we can't post dates on here for BattleStations but I have some dates---friend request/message me for them...please also send me dates you may have received from your SR if you haven't already. Thanks!
Remember, Captains Cup is this weekend. It is usually Sat morning. I know that Sunday is Easter, so not sure if that will change it to Friday, but I don't think so. I believe they will hold it on Sat. Someone can ask that on RTC FB if you like and report back here.
Here is the link to the Captains Cup info:
The next 8 days cannot go fast enough; although, there is a lot to get done before we head north to Great Lakes. Sr daughter has requested banana bread, blackberry pie and chocolate...wow! Can I get that done in time? And still waiting on ribbons and scarf....
Great info otwinmom!
When visiting any USO, please remember that the USO runs on donations and donations only. The USO recieves no government help whatsoever. It relies on donations from companies and people like us. Everything is free and is staffed by volunteers. Please make sure you leave a donation if you visit. That way this wonderful organization can continue its support of the military.
ryanfoosmom: Your SR knows the password so be sure to ask when you get the I'm a Sailor call. You can get your passes right up to PIR day.
Yes, I agree, Lala. I know we had advised against it, then some said the USO told them they could go and when to be back. I told them the story of a new sailor (a good while ago) who was the last one left in his barracks at RTC (back when they all didn't leave on Sat.). The RDCs forgot to wake him up...(his story) and he missed his plane. Oh boy....BIG TROUBLE for him. Not with RTC....but with his A School when he didn't report. He was scared to death....called his mom who had all of us praying for him when he arrived. Luckily he got it all straight when he arrived and wasn't in too much trouble.
So for those wondering what would happen if they got delayed while sightseeing (after leaving the airport) and the sailor missed the flight....uh oh. I would be like Lala...no way would I leave. I'm too much of a rule-follower, scaredy cat!
I can't believe I did this but it appears that I threw out the paperwork with the password for printing the gate pass. Does anyone know how I go about getting the password?
