Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by diannep on March 30, 2012 at 7:49am: Still need BattleStations dates for many divisions. Please friend request/private message me if you have received some from your SRs. I am formulating a schedule and will send out when complete.

We had something odd happen in this week's PIR group re: BattleStations. On Wed night, the last 2 divisions from the 03/30 group and the first 2 divisions of the 04/06 group did BattleStations the same night. Highly unusual to mix PIR groups like that for BattleStations. But never say never in the Navy! Anything can happen! :-)

Comment by diannep on March 30, 2012 at 7:44am: Yes, Kahli'sMom: TeacherMom is correct. Many times, the SRs order the tshirts/sweatshirts for the family. But if you want to check on that, here is the phone number for Poseiden Sportswear, the company that makes the division tshirts, etc:

Maybe they can check and see if they have an order from your SR. If not, you can order then. Not sure you will receive them before PIR...they have a cut off date, but maybe there is still time!

I will have my step-daughter as a student lol. I am taking my work with me lol. I love subbing in high school art. They don't care if you are crafty and making beautiful things for beautiful people :-)
