For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Write him a letter and let him know you are proud of him for doing this. Put a picture in it. It will make you feel better.

But like CO-twin said, you will get to listen over and over and that will be special. How awful to have a dream about it! I bet you were thinking about him all night long and what he might be doing at that time.

Disy...good to hear you heard from you daughter too and it's funny that she still had her personality left in her. LOL

CO-twin...I will have to catch that documentary. And hey...hang in there. Your son is worried this second time around but I bet he will be just fine. From all the stuff I've read the instructors and such are really helpful and want them to get it. I think it is going to be tough for Jonathan to get used to the idea that he can't just do his studying on his own terms since he will have to study in the classroom only. Again, it's a transition. I'm prayin' hard for your son Momma!

I understand how crushed you are, on the bright side you have a message that you can listen to over and over again. In the coming week you can hear his voice any time you need to. That is a gift. Then once school started it was more I thence than he thought. He said he understands the materiel what he was not prepared for was the amount thrown at him every day. It is intense and being classified they can not leave the classroom till they get it. Can not take anything out of that room to study later. Let your son know this so he can anticipate.

Comment by cathymgShip03Div367&ship11Div383 on August 1, 2013 at 2:58am: I am feel sick, I had a dream that I missed Bryce's call then I woke up and saw that I really had missed his call, my phone was right by my ear, maybe if I wouldn't have fell asleep with the TV on I would have heard it. He left me a message, I just want to cry, I doubt I'll sleep at all now. I will have to tell Gregory that he should call the home phone if it is the middle of the night. Sad mom. My call came at 12:56.

I bet the anxiety of the test is a huge burden for your son after his first test. I keep trying to prepare my son for how much more challenged he is going to be when he gets to A-school. I don't think he really knows what to expect just yet. He will learn soon enough.
