I agree CO-twin...I keep clicking on each member's profile to refresh my memory on who is going to BC and who has finished and who still has to go. It's wonderful to share this experience with all of you.

I think I need to start a cheat sheet on who has ho and who is doing what.

First the short call sometime tonight to say he/she is there. Then you will get "the box" your kid without the kid. in about a week or a little longer, then the form letter with their chip and division and the PIR date and facts, don't lose this you will need it.  Then about a week after that you will get a real letter.  They get to write on Sundays.  Be sure to print pictures from home on your letters as they get pretty homesick.

Twinsailorsmom...hope you get those letters in the mail soon...I know I will be hanging on a limb waiting for mail next summer. Good to know that they liked the fill-in-the-blank letters. I will keep that in mind.

CO-twin...AWESOME that you got a post card in the mail!

Doubletrouble...so GLAD that your boys passed their weigh in. Chiefs are ALWAYS smart like that! I had a Chief in NJROTC in high school and he was always full of wisdom.

I am a mix of extreme pride for them and sadness that they are gone and I wont see them much, but also pride for myself that I know I did a good job raising them.

You can all be proud of the jobs you did also.

Bryce is going to be a AD (Aviation Machinist mate) and Gregory an AC (Air traffic controller). I don't know my initial yet so I don't want to assume anyone else does.

Cathy and Disy...I must say you gals are AMAZING! I think I will have the same feelings and reaction...but who knows how the psyche works. I think I shed a few tears every day. Either tears of joy or tears of slight sadness. Mostly because I keep thinking about the boys leaving the nest and moving on. I'm not SAD SAD if that makes sense. There's just the thought of emptiness and what I will be missing out on with the boys. Sometimes we don't realize how wonderful our kids are until a moment of clarity comes along. I'm having more and more of those moments. I'm one of those kind of straightforward people...so I don't get too mushy about things. But I must say, in the last couple of months, I have a heightened awareness of how others feel and what they might be going through. It's a good thing, it's just a different feeling to experience.

Cathy...too cute about your son loving the flight and kicking it at the USO. Tell him to keep enjoying the relaxation before the wake-up call. LOL. Both of our boys have never flown before, so Jonathan is REALLY looking forward to the first flight when he ships out to BC. Nathanael is looking forward to the flight with us to PIR after that.

Cathy, now yours is a nuke also right? he sounds alot like my Sam.  He texted and called until the RDC came for the recruits.  His brother called once and texted once. We also had to drop off our boys at the recruiter and they drove together to Denver.

Doubletrouble, so glad to hear about the weight and I am sure they really don't want to cut their hair, they will probably do it last minute or just let the Navy do it. I will keep them and you in my prayers, I still am not sure this has hit me yet, I am feeling a little too calm.

Disy, I never had any problems with the school and attendance, actually they tried to switch classed once and they got caught. But once during a baseball tournament they wouldn't let one of the boys pitch because they said he had pitched the day before and they were wrong it was his brother who had pitched.

Man, cathy & disy, you both did awesome today! I hope I can keep it together when mine leave. We met with the recruiter today to get the final plans for when they leave. Turns out they have to be at the recruiters office the day before their actual date! Apparently our recruiter drives them to the MEPS which is 4 hours away. Since we are not able to make the trip and see them sworn in we say our goodbyes a day early:( we can still talk or text. They will swear in the next morning then fly from Amarillo to Dallas then on to Chicago.
They boys are not too excited about cutting their hair, they keep putting it off. Good news is they were good on their weight today! Amen! The chief measured them last time & the recruiter said he usually makes SR's worry just to make sure they make it.
