It is 77 and sunny here I think it will be a great day!! I shared in Christian chat about the prayer service our church had for the boys today, it was very special, so if you would like you can read about it on that group, was wondering if many churches do prayer service for the members on their congregation going to serve their Country?? It was very touching.
Sierra, Love the pictures and yes they do look like mirror images of each other, too cute.
Today is the day of Bryce's open house, they left and went to a duck blind drawing with their dad, which is good because he needs his time with the boys. He usually leaves Sunday afternoon to go back to work but he told me that he was going to get up at 4 am so he can stay and spend more time at home. I do hope they get home from the drawing by the time the open house is to start.
Oh and regarding the "mommy boxes". My friend is always on the lookout for goodies to put in her son's box. She finds kiddie stuff just to make him laugh like stupid toys etc. She always put baby wipes and things that the guys really need being out in the desert. I'm sure the things our sailor's need during deployment might vary...but all I can say is my friend got creative. She also bought a dehydrator and dries a TON of meat and fruit. They DEFINITELY DIG the dried goods. I'm sure that would be a most excellent item to send to our sailors who are deployed. I will have to get some other specific ideas from her to share with all of you.
Doubletrouble...what an AWESOME way to do something special for your boys. I sure hope they are focusing HARD on meeting their requirements for shipping out to BC and that all goes well. That would be heart-wrenching. I've seen several posts about them rejecting recruits at MEPS before shipping out. I'll be praying for your boys.
Cathymg...thanks for sharing the pics of your boys at your special event last week. Too funny with the "Bieber-bomb" in the background. It almost looks like it was put there after the fact! LOL Good to hear you got a little nap and you're feeling a bit better. This weekend is going to be a special one I'm sure, don't forget to take pics whenever you can. You know you won't regret it!
Disy...I'm thinking about you and your husband and what you're going through with your daughter so far away. I bet that "I'm here" phone call is going to mean the WORLD to you guys after she gets there. Praying that nothing goes wrong at MEPS for her either. That is one of my WORST fears! My son has never been sick or had health problems...but it makes me worry that they will find something wrong that we never knew about.
We survived formal senior pics on Friday. I didn't go in the studio with them as I wanted it to be something they were in control of. We'll see how they turn out. They did the tux yearbook photos and a few poses with regular clothes on. Darnit...now I just realized I should've taken pics of them before going in. Twin 1 (Nathanael) was so cute with a black button down shirt and a hand-tied bowtie that was burgundy and gold. He's my CLASSIC geek! We have to wait 3 weeks for the proofs, so we'll just have to wait. I'm glad it's over for now. I made plans with a friend of mine to do the boys' casual or environmental senior photos. She is a scrapbooking friend of mine and a school teacher that actually taught in their classrooms when they were in grade school. It's kinda cool! I'm trying to think about what we want to do for the poses and what we want to bring out about their personalities. For Twin 2 (Jonathan), it's easy because of his marching band stuff and we'll see if we can incorporate something Navy related in his pics too. We have to think a little harder for Nathanael. We plan on borrowing one of his video cameras from school and a professional camera for a few shots and a sketch pad and pencil too. It should turn out pretty good overall.
Hope all of you have a VERY SPECIAL weekend and just know that I am thinking about you Moms whose kids are shipping out this week. Don't forget we are all here for you!
