I think this is funny, This is at our Christmas in July, went ahead and got a cake for the boys because that was the last time many family members will see them before they leave. Who knew we were related to the Bieber, see him there in the background. LOL

mytwosons, welcome, this is the best group on this site, I love it. We have all really gotten to know each other and a little bit about each others kids, I love the support I get from this group.

CO-Twin, Glad Sam did better on his second test, I worry about my boys and studying, they have never been very good at it, they often test well, but they have never been much to study or do assignments. They only did what they had to do to get by. I sure bet it was a real treat to hear from both boys yesterday.

Double trouble, I love the pictures, that really is my favorite part of this page, the pictures!! I love sharing mine and I love seeing yours. And what fun at Texas Roadhouse, sounds great!! but I think I would of cried, did you cry??

Disy, I know the waiting is killing me, I keep prayering that nothing will go wrong. We leave Tuesday for St. Louis and Wednesday he will be gone and I will be waiting for my call to hear that he made it.

I think I am doing a little better, I got a nap yesterday anyway. I wish I would stop doing the comfort food thing, because my clothes are not going to fit me if I keep it up.

Co-twin, I bet your were on cloud 9 after hearing from both boys in one day!  That's awesome!

Disy, not sure why they are going at different times.  We think it might be because of the jobs they have, one will be a hull tech and the other a machinest mate on a sub.  The weird thing is Jacob joined first, in January and Darien in February, but Darien is leaving first so I don't know.  I tried to get Jacob to try to get his date moved, but he didn't act like he wanted to so I didn't push it.  I only wanted them to go together so their PIR was the same and we wouldn't be so worried about making two trips, oh well...

I have to share a couple of pics.  Thursday was the boys last day of work at Texas Roadhouse so we went to dinner there with some other family members to celebrate.  The manager is a friend of ours so she let me embarrass the boys!  The boys would come hang out at our table every once in awhile and one of the times they were both there she had the wait staff come out like they were doing a birthday, with the saddle and clapping and hollering.  They came to our table and Jacob sat on the saddle and I announced to all the restaurant that they are our boys and tonight was their last night at Roadhouse and they will both be going into the Navy next month.  The whole restaurant was clapping and yelling, the boys were loving it!!  We got a couple of pics, one is them with their grandma, my MIL and the other is them with two of their cousins that are going to miss them soooo much!

On a different note, the boys were over their weight limit at DEPS at the beginning of July.  They were both 1 1/2 inches over their waist and have been really watching what they eat and working out, not as much as they should, but are worried they won't get it off in time!!  Please keep them in your prayers, I don't want this to mess up their plans to be able to join.  I've heard on some of the other groups that they are super strict at their final MEPS and will disqualify them for any little thing.  We are really worried!

Disy - My oldest son is taking his new role in stride!  He is very patient with emotional mom!! I am so looking forward to more contact once they are done with BC.

How wonderful for you CO-twin. I'm glad you got such good updates from both boys. And awesome that Stephen got your "mommy box". That's what my friend at work calls the care packages she sends to her son in the Army who is serving in Afghanistan right now. Word gets around camp that his "mommy box" came and they all gather around to see what he got. She makes killer care packages. I can only hope I can make them as cool as she does.

Like the recipe, half done with the ice cream recipe but had an interruption.
GOT A CALL FROM STEPHEN!!!! We talked an hour! He is good, talked about the great food and culture experiences he has had so far. He wants to take up the mandolins. He got a care box from me in 16 days! Not bad. I'm floating in heaven.

Good to hear CO-twin. Your son needed that wake up call. A lot of kids haven't been challenged enough in the school system and they think everything is easy.

Doubletrouble...hope you are hanging in there too. My heart is going out to you gals.

I had an emotional moment today thinking about the boys moving on in life. I can't recall what triggered it, but it just came over me while sitting at a stop light. Then later my hubby played the song 93 Million Miles by Jason Mraz and I got all misty again.

Welcome mytwosons...hang in there. Each day brings you closer to PIR and getting your form letter. I only have one twin going in and his BC date isn't til July next year after he graduates from HS. The other twin is headed to college.

Sam Called and he did not so hot on his first math test, but on the next one did very well and they combined the two test so he ended up with a b+ equivalent.  He said it was a wake up call to try harder. He knows he can't take anything for granted.  He is celebrating with a date for dinner, movie and bowling.

Mytwosons  Have you signed up for their Dep leaving for BC July, or Ship and division group also PIR date group.  All these moms are going through the dame thing you are and it is great to know you are not alone. also the veteran moms on these are invaluable.  You are welcome here as far as I am concerned as they are in BC almost at the same time.  This group somewhat is dealing with dynamics between how our twins are going to deal with this new life.  Some have both twins in some only one and the other in college.

OK So who has not posted pics yet, lets see your twins please.

Cathymg, that's priceless! I am feeling all those same emotions. One of my twins leaves Aug. 7 & the other Aug. 13, so I understand your feelings. Where are you agin? Are you close enough to BC that you will be going to both twins PIR? Our plan is to go to both & we are in Texas, about 150 miles west of Dallas/Ft. Worth. The boys go to Amarillo for MEPS then leave from there for bc.
Hang in there, we will get through this together & with alot of help & {hugs}.
