Cathymg...glad to hear about your fun celebration. Yes...I did exactly what you did and had to just go into the car and not watch. It drove me insane! Men/boys are always trying to out-do each other, I just don't get it.

I hope your son's rash clears up right away. Yikes. I hope it's just something he brushed up against at the lake. 9 more days eh? Hope you are holding up alright.

I was talking with my sister yesterday about camping together next year and we talked about how there would be one less of us. It's so odd to think about it and of course made me swallow hard. We are now planning a camping trip with my sister shortly after Jonathan goes to BC so that we will be occupied.

Sierra, glad you are back and that you had a great time with your family, I know what you mean about the twin bond, we have it here to and they use it mostly against me, I also understand worrying about them doing things a little to dangerous and hoping they don't ruin their dreams of being a sailor, I feel that my boys take way to many risks and Yesterday was our Christmas is July, we had it at my nieces house on a nearby lake, they had a rope that hung from a tree they would swing over the water each man/boy would try a trick a little more dangerous then the last, all trying to outdo each other. I was scared and finally had to stop watching. Bryce has talked about working out and running but still hasn't started that yet and he leaves in 9 days, I can believe it has came so fast. I am a little worried, he has a rash on his ankle, he just showed it to me yesterday. I don't want a rash keeping him from leaving and starting this exciting journey in the Navy, I will take him to the doctor on Tuesday and hopefully figure out what it is and get it treated. I will also call his recruiter and let him know.  I Pray that it is nothing and it will treated and he will still be able to leave as planned

Disy...how are you doing? Hope all is well. I can't post pics when I'm on my phone, but when I use the main computer I can. If the photo is on my phone, I send an email with attachments upload to my hard drive and then I use the photo icon on the comment box to share. I will share photos from our trip tomorrow. I got some really nice pics of both boys on this trip.

Cathymg...it is so good that you guys got to spend some quality time together with the boys and their grandparents. Hearing how distant the boys seem to get before BC is helping me to prepare for the inevitable. It will be hard to accept...but I also understand it is important to them also. I'm glad we are having lots of fun this summer.

I hope that your son will be able to cope with his friend's illness while he's at BC. That has got to be so difficult. Have you discussed with him what he wants to know while at BC and what he doesn't want to know?

I guess I'm lucky with Jonathan regarding his working out. Since he's so lanky...he has a lot of work to do to bulk up. We signed him up for a gym membership right after he signed into DEP. I have to remind him, but overall he goes twice a week at this point. He seems pretty motivated as he likes to run...but we'll see if that wears off over the next 11 months. LOL Good luck to your boys and motivating them to get prepared.

So good to hear that you got a call from Sam CO-twin! I told my son about your post regarding his first week of Nuke School. He told me to ask you how many cups of coffee your son is drinking now. LOL

Hey gang...we are on our way back home from our trip. It was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! We had some GREAT bonding moments. Oh the stories! It was very difficult being the minority in the group with my husband and his twin and the boys. Only because testosterone is not a good thing when it comes to sharp cliffs along lakes! They were constantly putting themselves in dangerous situations. Ones that I would NEVER attempt. LOL Especially ADVENTURE-BOY Jonathan. I worry about him doing something that would cause some kind of injury and dash his Navy dreams.

The boys got along reasonably well and we got more cooperation from both when it came to packing up. Thank goodness! They still have a brotherly bond that shows up at times. They plotted to scare us in a cave we went through today called the Subway Lava Tube. I told my husband that I thought they were going to do something and I wanted him to stay close. I could tell when we couldn't hear their voices any longer. Sure enough, they had turned off their flashlights and were walking along the wall to get closer to us without us knowing. Then they started squawking like teradactyls or maybe more like zombies and running towards us. It was pretty funny.

Sam is after me to drive his car from Colorado to S. Carolina in two weeks!! I don't think that is happening. I told him if he has to have it NOW he should ship it. He said it has to be on his dime then and I feel like telling him, "welcome to the world of adults son."

Sorry been busy at work.  Art show in a week and everyone wants last minute framing.

Funny because Bryce told me he had set his alarm for 5am, but he barely got up in time for work, so he must of hit snooze!! I hope he does something soon.

He found out today that he best friends dad has had his cancer return, he is really close with the family, so I am sure it will upset him, plus he will worry about how Cole is going to take it. Cole's Dad is divorced and his mom don't really have much to do with him, but Cole is really close to his Dad's mom, so it is really just the 3 of them. I will pray for the best

Sam said a while ago. "College just want your money and you are on your own if you succeed or not, The navy is investing in me and they will see to it that I succeed." I don't think too many fail.
