3boysmom...it hurts so much to lose one of our parents. You are not crazy for losing it at the store. I cherish the time I still have with my Mom. However my step-dad who raised me and was a veteran from WWII passed just over a year ago. He also had an influence on Jonathan deciding to join the military. Hang in there.

3boysmom, so sorry for the loss of your mom. I couldn't imagine going through all of this & not be able to talk to my mom. I will certainly keep you in my thoughts.

Thanks for the info CO-Twin..

3boysmom,I am also sorry about your mom, it sure sound like you have a lot to deal with right now, sometimes everything snowballs!! Hang in there it will get better.

Disy, I know i will be where you are real soon, I wish i had some insight for you but since I haven't been there yet, I am just not sure if I can say anything to help. My husband and I talked over the weekend and I told him he only has a few days to see Bryce before he left and he acted like it wasn't no big deal, but I believe he is calling him everyday and that's not normal, so I can see that it is bothering him too. We will all probably handle our kids leaving a little differently but hopefully just having each others support and knowing that we are going through or will be going through the same things and that we care will help us all get through this. You all can cry on our shoulders through the keyboard any time you need. We are here and are lifting you up!!

I miss seeing pictures, somebody post some, they always make me feel better. Maybe it will help the ones who are hurting right now!!

My daughter is home right now and her brother went to leave the house and paid no attention to her and she is leaving early in the morning, she told him she probably wouldn't see him until he is sworn in and they won't be able to talk then , but he still didn't have any time for her. When he left she got all teary eyed and I felt so sorry for her, I told her that many people have said their kids got kind of distant before they left and that he didn't mean it but she is very hurt.

3boysmom  thinking of you with the loss of your mom I lost mine 3 years ago. Still think Oh I should call my mom.  It is hard to not be able to talk to her.

cathymg the train station is about 30 miles I think.  There is a metro train that goes from the Union Station directly to RTC. I took it the first twins PIR.

Anybody know how far Chicago union station is from the GL?? My daughter might be able to take the train when the boys graduate.

I own a store and lose it in there all the time. And trust me I am from a family full of red heads and we do not make pretty criers.  Turn beet red and puffy. I can always tell when my boys are about to lose it also we all turn red.

Disy,
Keeping busy does help, but no matter how far along there are difficult moments/days. We are all in this together. I had to remind my Army boy that when he joined, he signed us all up for this life.

I just had one of those moments today while at Wal-Mart, walked by the tea bags and almost lost it because I always bought my mom tea there and she just passed away two weeks ago. I held it together through a few more aisles then looked up ans saw the protein powder that I always had to buy for my son, I felt like I'd lost so much. I had to leave the store.
I'll try again another day.

You are not alone, Usually I packed with maybe one helper.

Disy...Keep yourself busy, that's a good thing. I'm sure you won't get much meaningful sleep for a few days. It's hard to shut the mind off about what is happening to your daughter. Hang in there...we are all thinking about you and your entire family. It's good to hear the kids are back to normal.

We are almost ready to hit the road for our last family camping trip. We are going to Crater Lake, OR for 4 days. Of course one of the boys helped with loading up the car the whole time and the other just sat at the computer. Typical. Sorry just had to vent a bit. It's frustrating!
