Cathy...I hope your kitty came back home already. Prayers for you my friend. As far as food goes, I bet those gals at work would really appreciate your offer. It will benefit you both.

My cat went out when I did earlier and I let him, thought oh he won't be out long, he is a inside cat and now I can't find him, I am getting kind of worried, he really has no way to defend himself.

And I am having some food issues myself, 3 freezers full of food and only me here and I eat lunch everyday at work, so I might eat one meal a day here. I really don't need all this food and hoping is don't go bad. I work with some girls who have nothing, really just barely enough to get by, thinking about letting them come out and get some food out of my freezers.

I used to spend an obscene amount at the grocery store, One had to have deli cut pastrami and black forest ham, his twin likes ALOT of hard salami and they both liked the artisan loafs at Safeway (about 12") one was a sandwich. Lots of gatorade and arizona tea. One likes oreos, the other cheezits. They ate chese like crazy and bacon OMgosh Bacon. Wouldn't touch fruit. Anyway what I miss the most from that is the gas credits from huge grocery totals.  I used to get .40c to .60c off per gallon. now I may get .10c once a month. I can eat more healthy now. Lots of fruit and veggies, organic stuff,

Ellen...I'm laughing about the buying food problem. I think I will have that problem in the future. Each week we make sure to buy lunchbox food to keep the boys happy, not sure I eill know what to do with that ectra money. LOL. It will also be strange to only cook for two.
Cathy...I can totally relate to the whole 'I should do something productive but can't motivate myself.' problem. I seem to hit that wall quite often. Just think...only a few more weeks til your boys PIR and head off to A-school. I'm sure that planning your trip to GL is consuming a lot of your time too. Hope you aren't feeling too lonely. ((HUGS))
CO-twin...How cool that your Dad made such a precious treasure for you and your boys. I'm sure it had an impact on your boys' decision to join the Navy. Hope your spirits are lifted today. Just a couple more weeks til we meet!

I had a long hard day at work today. I ended up working 12 hours :( On a good note...I get a 4-day weekend starting now since I had to work the holiday! I'm making Ginger Peach Jam tomorrow!

Disy & Doubletrouble...hope all is well with your SRs.

Quiet on here today. Sorry been busy elsewhere today. It is a mixed bag.  sometimes I like the quiet sometimes not.

I know what you mean about lonely, it is me and my computer again tonight and the cat is on my lap!! Need to do something around here but can't talk myself into doing it;

I have more than not now good times but still have bad ones. Today I am a little tearful. No clue why.

When my mom passed away I forgot and bought her a birthday card.  Sent it to me Dad so he knew I was thinking about her.

My dad was on a destroyer like his grandson Steve is now.  He is quite pleased about that.  During WWII he kept a journal, sketched and described what was happening, bunkmates, flying fish, natives, battles. It is very cool and both my boys love looking at it.

Ellen...I hope you can find a way to stay busy so that the silence doesn't get to you. Do you have a hobby? The empty nest thing is something I fear. Not totally...but just a bit. I don't know about you ladies, but after 18 years of chaos with the boys, I'm ready for some peace and quiet. Don't get me wrong...I'll miss my boys immensely, I am just going to enjoy the solitude that goes along with the empty nest.

September seems like a popular month for birthdays. My husband's b-day is also this month. CO-twin's suggestion of a Birthday cake and PIR cake seems like a good idea. Just think of your Mother being there watching her daughter beaming with pride and joy over her son's graduation. What a wonderful memory.

I sure hope your twin will be able to make it home for his sister's wedding. I can totally understand her wanting him to be there. It's good that her future spouse and her twin get along well.

CO-twin...what an awesome story. My step-dad and his two brothers (not twins) were all in the Navy during WWII. My Mom has a photo on the wall of all three of them lined up in height order in their dress whites. It is my FAVE pic of them.

No Jacks brother is no longer alive.  I think he is like 87 or 88 and he is like 5'2" tall. Sharp as a tack and a beautiful base voice.

Wow that is quite the year. You will have to do something special for celebrating both on the PIR day, Maybe have a small Bday/PIR cake.

As I mentioned we have 3 seals in this town. A couple of years ago was the wedding for #2 and #1 who is brother of the bride got to come as well as several others from their unit. All in uniform complete with swords!! beautiful ceremony. Now we celebrate the birth of their son.

Send a petition up to God for them to be together on her wedding.

How are all the twins doing?  We have an old guy in our church, Jack, who is 80? something. He is so cute and he is a twin. in WWII he served in the Navy with his twin.  Lucky for him they were on the same ship because during a storm he almost got washed overboard and his brother grabbed him by the pants and saved his life.
