For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by CO-TwinSalorsMom on July 5, 2013 at 7:02pm: Yes I do I have to look it up though. while I am at it for future info for you you can order military mail kits. They come with boxes. labels, tape and customs forms.

The boxes are maybe like a medial size priority box and all ship at a flat rate that is less than the if it fits price.

Also you can put your recruits phone on military hold anytime they can't use it or when there is no service where they are. Then you just reactivate it when they can have it back. Great for the smart phones so you pay nothing while on hold.

Comment by CO-TwinSalorsMom on July 4, 2013 at 10:28pm: Here is a start of what I hope can be a support to those of us blessed with multiples, even if just one joins the navy, we have a little different dynamic to deal with. Some good things some not so good.

One of my twins, Steve, went and signed up without telling his twin, Sam. Sam has always been the follower of the two, Steve the dominant one. Sam thought they were going off together to the college Steve picked. Steve thought twice about student loans. Sam was very angry at his twin and for the first time in their life they had a physical fight in our living room. Later Steve's recruiter, nice guy, asked Sam what he was going to do, Sam's reply, "I have no idea" He had scored 92 on the ASVAB so the reciter when he found that out Wooed him into a contract for Nuke. Now Sam is having to be his own person, make decisions and stand on his own two feet. He is really just blooming into a wonderful positive, patriotic young man. It is fun to see him developing in his own way. His twin Steve has red hair and has always had an adventurous personality. He is also thriving as an IT on the USS Bainbridge and is already making plans for re-uping.
