OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Follow this link for OPSEC Guidelines:

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).  Still limited to 2 guests maximum.

Specific information on this policy change will be provided in the coming days and weeks.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your support.

RTC Graduation

**UPDATE 7/16/2021**

**UPDATE - 2020**

Due to COVID there is no public PIR. The graduations are on Thursday, and the video of the graduation is posted on RTC's FaceBook on Friday at approx 3pm. Please keep in mind that a division may need to complete additional quarantine during training which will delay their graduation.

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

A little about me:
I'm a Administrative Secretary for a great university and loving it. My dtr will be leaving for boot camp in October, Yeah!!! I know I will miss her, but I am so happy for her all the same. She told me that she feel anew and a new beginning. Now she will be physically building her own foundations - out of the nest- figure of speech.
I am here to support my
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy career?
Waiting to leave for Boot Camp
When I heard “Navy,” I...
Was proud and encouraged it
The Navy offers opportunities that...
Just getting started, don't know much about yet, but what I do know seems to be awesome thus far.
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Here is the link for the 900 divisions facebook group. I hope you are able to find some pics of your recruit. I know it sure does make things better when you see a pic of them. When people say a picture is worth a thousand words they really are not kidding :) and to order the ribbons you just go to my website to place your order. Thanks so much and let me know if you have any other questions. I am happy to help.

Yes he was -- BACK FROM GRADUATION SIS!! IT WAS WONDERFUL!!! they are heros in Great Lakes/Chicago area.. the Graduation ceremony was beautiful -- he's Division won the Hall of Fame award and he got to carry the hall of fame flag during graduation for his division. When you guys go for your babies graduation let me know how you like it. We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Waukegen - very close to the base and a great hotel  - we loved our trip :-)

Thanks for the invite. I don't really know what I am doing. Not good with computers. Have you found anywhere what the attire is for PIR/graduation? When does your lived one graduate?

If you know of anyone in Boot Camp, or Leaving Soon for Boot Camp, go to and Get FREE phone cards for them to use. Loved ones or the Recruits should NOT have to pay for phone calls from Boot Camp…and now they Don't!!
