I'm a proud Navy Mom beginning Aug. 2012 when our son begins his Navy life, training as a Hospital Corpsman. My heart has always been part Navy as my Dad served on the USS Coral Sea during the Korean War and two of my three older brothers served proudly in the Navy, one of them during Desert Storm, retiring after 20+ yrs! Things have changed quite a bit since then & I'm sure this new adventure will be a very exciting & challenging one. I'm looking forward to getting to know others in our Navy "family" & hearing their stories as well.. I am so very proud of ALL of our military & appreciate their choice to serve so we may all enjoy the things we do. God Bless them all & bring them home safely... <3
I am here to support my
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy career?
Waiting to leave for Boot Camp
When I heard “Navy,” I...
Was proud and encouraged it
The Navy offers opportunities that...
One of the most important things I've learned through my Navy experience so far is not to take things for granted. These sailors & other military men & women have given so very much for us all. They miss time with family, friends & other important life events, sacrificing many things for us. My brother missed the birth of his son years ago!
I've also learned how amazing the Navy is in teaching our young men & women how to become responsible, respectful, proud & contributing members of society. We as parents can give them the basics, but the Navy will mold them the rest of the way.. in a way that we just can't. It's a special blessing & gift these sailors give to themselves when they sign up. :0)
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
