My son did MEPS in Louisville, so I assume that is where he will be leaving to bc from.  My son went to MEPS in September or so and can;t go to boot camp until April 8th.  7 month is a long time to wait.

He talked to his recruiter today and his other choices were booked so if he wanted to go to bc quickly he had to do PACT.  Of course he did MEPS back in September and April 8th is the earlist they could get him in.

I got the letter today so hoping that yours is either there or on its way :) His PIR date is Feb 8. I had to call the recruiter and ask him because my son had given the date 0 Feb 13....he had forgotten to put the actual day lol. Poor thing was probably so frazzled. I am so glad to have met someone in the same boat as myself. Look forward to meeting you at their graduation ceremony! Hoorah!

Oh wow, your situation sounds very similiar to mine....My son also had just signed his contract on the 28th as well. Was told that he was leaving Dec. 11 to RTC. He is an ABE. He leaves Great Lakes and flies directly to Pensacola Florida for school. Totally threw the family off, with time crunch and mentally preparing for such a big change.
