Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hi Pat - If he gets dive school, but is still on the boat, you can rest easy. "Rescue" diving isn't really what being a qualified diver on the boat is about. He's not likely to ever dive below a hundred feet, unless he does it recreationally. His dives will be what they call "security swims", where several hours or so before getting underway, they do a check of underwater surfaces of the hull to make sure nobody snuck in and attached something to the boat. Very routine, safe stuff, and a great way to get free (and very good) training for diving, so he can get into it recreationally.

Good morning Pat, It was such a pleasure to meet you yesterday. Did you like the concert? The fireworks were a new addition to the entertainment. In a few weeks, when I try to get some N4M's together for lunch, would it be all right to give you a call? Best wishes to your sailor! Pat

Hi, Pat! I'm another Sub Mom and I saw your post asking where other Seawolf moms might be. I'm not one, but these folks are: Anita Purple Ladybug, Ann Simons, Beth Demarest, Carl L. Toles, Karysa, LindaZ, and Seawolf Mom.

These are their user names, so you should be able to find them by putting a name in the 'Search' box at the top of the page. There's also a 'Group' for Seawolf moms; find it by clicking on the tab labeled such at the top of the page. Give me a shout if you still need help! Hugs, k.
