There are no extra spots for PIR now. Everyone over the age of 2 (lap babies) must be on the Access List. Hope that your daughter is in a TG that allows 4 guests and not just 3. See http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/upcoming_grads.asp and page 2 of http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/pdfs/FamilyGuide.pdf. Be sure to check out the discussion, Things to Do in the Last Month Before Your Future Sailor Leaves for the RTC for other decisions you will need to make. Go ahead and join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and start checking out the Pages there. Take care and blessings to you and yours.

Hi PrettysMom:

YES! you can go to MEPS to see your daughter off on the day of her ship out. I would call her recruiter now and asked to be put on the list. Once you get there, you go straight to the Vistor's Center and sign in. Take your license and car's registration and insurance in with in. OR you can have her recruiter meet you up there and escort you in (it's easier that way, then you know exactly where you are going). We got to hang out with my son for about 1 1/2 hours prior to his departure, and also got to see him take his finaly oath (and video it). Then they take them down stairs when the buses get there and everyone lines up outside and claps when all the young men and women come walking out. It your last time to give that hug and take pictures.  I highly recommend it!  :-)  We live about 15 minutes outside of Philly. :-)
